I'm definitely watching the ring ceremony but unfortunately I can't stay up any later.  It is already approaching 1am here and I have to work at 5.  So I will be taping the game and watching it tomorrow...

Jesus, watching Paul Pierce right now is making it a little dusty in here.

Remember:
Quote
Turns out that Pierce is a basketball junkie. Watches all the playoff games once the Celtics get knocked out. Watches every NBA-related documentary on ESPN and Fox. Watches every old-school NBA game on ESPN Classic. Watches summer league games on ESPN2. Heck, he even coerced the Celtics into sending him game tapes of every Celtics game from the 2001 season, just so he could scout himself.

The guy simply loves basketball. Lives and breathes it. Better yet, unlike most of the guys in the league, he could pick Gus Williams out of a police lineup, he knows Andrew Toney had an unstoppable first step, he knows the Lakers wouldn't have won the '87 title without Mychal Thompson ... he's just a basketball fan who coincidentally happens to play basketball for a living. And he was sitting home last summer, night after night, watching all these games and documentaries, telling himself over and over again, "Some day, it's gonna be me ... some day it's gonna be me."

Good for him.

Wow. I have to say I'm surprised by how emotional that ceremony was for me.

I never thought it would happen again in my lifetime.

What an awesome piece of closure to a great run.

How emotional too see Paul.
Beautiful. I've waited 10 years
to see him like that. You could
really tell what it means to him.
17 is up where it belongs.
JUST BEAUTIFUL...

Now let's kick some Cavalier butt!

Anyone try to watch the pregame show on Comcast? Am I the only one seeing a constant still image from a BowFlex commercial instead?

I think the pre-game show starts half and hour before tip-off. I don't think they'll be showing the game on CSN, anyways, because TNT is airing the game.

No, CSN still had their pre-game show with Tanguay and Marshall at 6:30 (and a post-game show scheduled for 10:30) ... it's just that they must have had technical difficulties (you could hear the audio but the video was nothing but a still image from a BoxFlex commercial).

I guess they're lucky they weren't scheduled to broadcast the game, or else the Boston sports scene would have had the NBA version of "Steve-Harvey Gate"

That was great. I'm so happy for Paul Pierce. TNT should be playing his speech right now.

Reggie Miller thought he was watching 'The Notebook' all over again? Pretty cool Reggie...
