The sad commentary on the messiah is that if he wasn't getting the WWE officiating he'd ultimately be a much better player.  He obviously already works hard on his game.  But he doesn't have to improve his ball handling when he doesn't have to dribble from halfcourt to make a layup.  That's just one example of where his game could improve where because he gets every call offensively and has never, ever traveled or committed a personal foul, he doesn't have to work as hard.

Then there's the whole arrogant puke thing that defines the messiah.

The same exact thing could be said about Jordan.  Imagine the player he could have been if he was officiated the way his peers were with his amazing work ethic.

I wasn't a fan of Jordan, either.  But at least he had some credibility as a true champion.

  • "This is beautiful. What is that? Velvet?"
I can't stand Lebron.
"Coach you were 24 and 58 last year, why the playoff talk?"
"Well we made a couple of key trades . . . and we got The Funk."

I guess I am in the minority...I thought it was a compliment, the trash can being out of the lottery, and Pruit being a "steak".

Bottom line:  You swap Pierce with LeBron... that series doesn't go 7 games.  The Celtics murder the Cavs in 4 or 5 games.  And Pierce gets shut down by the swarming defense of the Celtics.

Good thing reality checked in so none of that happened.

if you swapped KG with that tall alien from space jam, we would have won in 4!

Pierce is my favorite player in the NBA.

But that Cavs team last year was pretty darn similar to the 2007 Celtics team that finished 2nd to last in the NBA.

Z = Big Al
Wally = Wally
Delonte = Delonte
Boobie = Rookie Rondo
LeBron = Pierce

Maybe I'm stretching a little bit with that comparison... MAYBE...   But as much as I love Pierce...   I'm not going to be delusional and suggest that he would have taken the Cavs as far as Bron did last year.   Very very doubtful.

And I love Pierce.   He's not LeBron though.

Haha while I definently agree with you that pierce wouldn't have taken the cav's as far as lebron, you're definently stretching that team comparison to it's absolute limit.  ;D

Big Al =/= Z; Z has a huge height advantage and can play D, and stretch a defense.
Celtics Wally =/= Cavs Wally; Cavs wally wasn't injured most of the season.
Rookie Rondo =/= Gibson; Gibson has an outside shot, and had a very good help D to cover him.
Plus the cavs had the hustle of Varaejo and the defense of Big Ben.

I can't stand Lebron.

I'm no fan either.
