I logged in around noon and looked around and eventually got to "Latest Topic Posts" where I noticed 3 out of 10 posts were about the Pats. (When I saw "Cassell" I was thinking Sam, but someone else was thinking Matt.)Anyway....

Isn't this region saturated enough in and by the media (especially our sports talk radio)regarding the Sox and Pats, often at the expense of and to the exclusion of our beloved Cs? I remember that dark year 2006-2007 (when I and many of you diehards still watched every game) just before the dawn of '07-08 when at the end of a sportscast on NECN, that dope of a sportscaster (who jumped on our bandwagon last year)just finished talking extensively about the Pats in the playoffs and some hot stove baseball (Sox) news and briefly gave a B's score and then said flippantly "and for the Celtics....who cares!" and waved his hand dismissively because they were out of time.

The Sox and Pats get enough ink, talk, etc. etc everywhere else....Why here too?

We have an off-topic forum for non-Celtics related discussion.

I can't speak for all, but this is the only site I contribute too, so I look to it for more than just Celtics (though obviously that's the focus). People have valuable input in other areas and today there happens to be a lot to discuss today in other areas.

At least we've moved past the Apples vs Oranges debate doldrums of the summer

  • Basketball is Newtonian Physics
Because both of them are playing meaningful games while the Celtics are still in preseason.

And this is a site that discusses alot more then just basketball.

Don't worry I have a feeling a lot of the Sox talk will be dwindling down very soon.

Win or lose, I doubt it.

In terms of the topic, as others have stated, we allow discussion of many, many topics outside of the Celtics.  Celticsblog isn't just a blog where people come to discuss the Celtics; it's a place where Celtics fans come to discuss just about everything.

We're a community here.  Communities, by their nature, can't confine themselves to one topic.  Many of us have gotten to know each other, and there are lots of areas of discussion that people are interested in that extend beyond the Celtics.  We want to hear the opinion of our online colleagues, without necessarily joining an entire new Red Sox / Pats blog.  I think that's fair.

I do understand your point, but I think the Celtics posts will start to dominate again shortly.

I've had a little too much going on today to dig in, but clearly the basketball juices are flowing in the forums today.

Good stuff
