Preseason Game 1 Celtics vs Sixers 10/8

Oh, wait, that was back in June...

I still have one week of paternity leave
so I may actually catch this game somewhere.
On paper, the Sixers should be a much better
team than last season and I remember their
run at the end of the 07-08 campaign. I still
think we're the team to beat, though.

And oh, who cares if it's the preseason?!
WE'RE SOON BALLIN' AGAIN!

I am hoping for 1 of 2 things.....

1. Bill Walker taking it to the hole and getting to the line.

2. Darius Miles is able to run up and down the floor and not get hurt.

I'm definitely excited to see the new athletes especially Giddens. I know Walker was the highly touted guy and all and I definitely love him but I think Giddens is getting passed over a bit and while he has been a little behind Walker in recent performance, this kid is too smart and too athletic to not put it together at some point. While he may not have the breakout star potential of Bill Walker, I think Giddens has a great chance to be a solid 2-way player.

Thanks for all the kind words.  It seemed soooo good to get back to basketball things and game threads!   

More than the athletes and dunking, my irrational love is defense.  I just love players who rebound and play lock down defense.   That being said, I can't wait to see the new guys and how they look:  Miles, Giddens, O'Bryant, and especially Walker.   I expect Walker to be the steal of the draft when all is said and done.   Just 2 more days to wait!!!

This is too good to be true, the season is really upon us.

I personally hope they play a ton of POB, Walker & Miles, I believe I'll know after 1 game how these guys will do this season.  I'm also looking forward to seeing how TA is playing without the brace.  There's so much to anticipate in this random preseason game, I can't wait.

I wonder who will start in Perk's place, though. It may be, Powe, but I hope not, because he's not a center. But if that does happen, I think KG will guard Dalembert and Powe will guard Brand, because they seem to matchcup better. Maybe BBD on Brand?

I'm so looking forward to this game! I've been going through basketball withdrawals!

I'm just really hoping that A) Rajon, Pierce, Garnett, or Allen don't get hurt in the 10 or so minutes they might play (actually, since they're not playing in the Garden I wouldn't be surprised if Doc tries to give a little show and play them around 20 or so minutes) and B) for Bill Walker. Hope we get to get a nice long look at Billy, I think he can be real special.
