Posted on facebook today...not by me

Got a flat tire... pulled over to change it. Stupid guy says, "Did your tire go flat?" I said " No, I was driving along and the other 3 just swelled up!"

“When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand.

The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.”

Wow. George Takei (aka Sulu from Star Trek) was in a Japanese internment camp as a little kid during WW2. Wow.  Oh my.

Also his favorite Star Trek episode is "Naked Time".  That confused me when I looked for it and found it on youtube.  That's the episode where he had the sword in the halls.

Also he said William Shatner (Kirk) was the only one that didn't accept him coming out to the crew, which Shatner disagrees about and has begged George to talk out their differences, which George refused, but they got together for Shatner's roast and got along.

You're a rotter...Mr. Gingrich. You really are a heel. You're as cuddly as a cactus, and you drive a crooked hoss....Mr Gingrich.   I wouldn't vote for you....with a gun to my head.

was talking to a guy from Minnesota last night. Told him I was so frustrated I was considering voting for either Tim Tebow or Kermit for president. He responded.."Yeah, but you know if Kermit becomes president Miss Piggy will be the power behind him". I responded "You mean you don't think she'll be satisfied as just First Pig"? He insisted she would probably make a move for Secretary of State down the line.

"Greatness is a transitory experience. It is never persistent. It depends in part upon the myth-making imagination of humankind. The person who experiences greatness must have a feeling for the myth he is in. He must reflect what is projected upon him. And he must have a strong sense of the sardonic. This is what uncouples him from belief in his own pretensions. The sardonic is all that permits him to move within himself. Without this quality, even occasional greatness will destroy a man." -- Dune
