Beasley is on the better team, but Al Jeff as of right now is way better than Beasley.  However, Beasley might end up being a better pro in the future

Al Jefferson is better, right now.

Post moves - Jefferson
D against centers - Jefferson
D against 4's - Tie or slight edge Jefferson
Rebounding - Tie
Athleticism - Big edge Beasley
Face up game - Beasley
Fast break - Beasley

I give Jefferson a slight edge at the moment, but would not be surprised if Beasley is considered the better player by the end of the year. Next year Beasley will surpass Jefferson more clearly.

I think big al is and always will be better than beasley. Beasley's not really a 4 anyway, he probably will score as much as big al but I don't see him getting as many rebounds as big al does

You're calling Beasley the equal of a top 5 rebounder before he plays a game? That's a little ambitious.

Good point. I guess I'd give Jefferson the edge for the moment. Beasley did lead the nation in rebounds by half a rebound, in only 31.5 mpg. He likely won't be top 10 for a year, until he fills out and gets more comfortable.

I'm going to reserve my judgment until Beasley actually plays a season in the NBA.

Both have rather unique tools - time will tell as to who can utilize them better.
God bless and good night!

Agreed. BrickJames, I am glad you didn't follow through with your threat to never post on here again if TA was on an NBA roster this year. I was especially worried when it was on ours!

Thanks, EJ.  We don't agree often, but your note is well-received.

I still believe that if it wasn't on our roster, he wouldn't be on any, but it's silly to argue/wager on that, at this point. :)

And I followed through on my "threat" - although I consider it a promise - but my I share the same definition of "never again" with Charles Barkley.  My hiatus lasted a few weeks :)
God bless and good night!

Right now? Big Al. Beasley haven't played a game in the NBA, yet. But Beasley will probably better in 2 years or so.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

Wow I really miss watching Big Al's herky-jerky moves. It's just a type of offense you hardly see and it sometimes makes you go what did he just do?

Anyway I don't see Beasley being better than Big Al anytime soon. Remember big men take some time to mature and Beasley seems like a bit of a head case.

Yeah, after thinking about it, I don't think Beasley would be better than Big Al. Maybe at the same level but not better. Big Al is the Future.  ;)

I think Jefferson will benefit this year from playing with Kevin Love. They might be pretty special together, and Love will help out with the rebounds.

I don't think the Miami situation is ideal for Beasley, with Blount, Magloire, and Marion. Marion wanted to get out of Phoenix to get more shots for himself, even if it meant going to a losing team.

We could see a big trade at some point before the season starts.

I agree - I'm both a Big Al and KLove fan, but two undersized PF/Cs on one team as starters?  I'm somewhat dubious.

They've both got game, and I'd love to see them pull it together.

They'd never win a championship as a front line though, I'm sorry.  No two ways about it.  In this league, you need a Shaq, a KG, a Duncan, a Sheed.  Neither fit the bill, unless Love blows up like none other.
God bless and good night!
