I went with The Game but its tight between him and NaS. Both are very lyrical rappers and have a wide variety of songs which in my opinion Lil wayne cant touch. I give The Game the edge just because his lyrics are often about sports and i love that

The Game isn't really a lyrical rapper. He's more of a Tupac DMX struggle/emotional type rapper.

Anyways I pick Nas, Common, Saigon, Termanology, Papoose, The Game, Joell Ortiz, GZA, Shaquille O'Neal, and Spice 1

This is the song I was listening too when I was hoping the Celtics would win the championship

I really hate it when people think wayne is the best rapper alive because he doesnt make sense when he raps. He could have a song about one girl and he will rap about money and cars with that t-payne voice. He doesnt even compare to the other rappers I put on the poll.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
The game is trash, he belongs nowhere near this list.

I think the most talented rapper making music right now is Lupe.

I think saying Jay-z is the best rapper alive is like saying Jerry Rice is the WR alive.

I think the guys I've always thought were the best have fallen off terribly recently. Black Though, Talib, Mos Def, Common, Jay-z, Jadakiss, they've all gotten a hell of a lot worse over the last 5 years.

I think if you consider Outkast as one rapper, they're easily the best rapper alive.

I think if you consider an artists entire body of work, Jay-z is probably the best rapper alive.

I think if little Wayne didn't have drugs, he'd be "the most average rapper alive". The drugs have made that poor boy lose his mind. "Make an appointment with mr "I can't make an appointment."

Oh I get it...seriously I understand what its about I just think its stupid.

I'm an MF Doom fan, including his work with other artists (Nastrodoomus, Dangerdoom).

Lyrics about money and women are played out. Gimmee lyrics about food, Adult Swim, and taking over the world!

My old school fav is Rakim and maybe Poor Righteous Teachers.

grand puba of brand nubian is great, but q-tip was too when we talk middle-skool.  I really like danger doom for clever stuff.

overall, dan the automator did it right with his NBA 2K7 soundtrack.  THE WHOLE ALBUM IS RAP SONGS ABOUT BASKETBALL!!!

"...something like a celtics fan"

"I should be in the locker room letting them pour champaign on me!"

go Celts, nba champs! :D
"You're skating on pretty thin ice around here, McGee!"
"Sounds like the ice's problem."

GO CELTS!

I think Lupe Fiasco is the best right now. Hurt Me Soul is a great song too. Lil Wayne is trash.
