I was just looking around youtube and saw those great fights, Kobe vs Reggie, Bird vs a lot of guys, Bradly's ass kicking is my favorite, offcourse you can't forget about Ronny.
Come on guys give me something, last one I recall was Denver-Knicks brawl.

The league is different now, everything's changed after the Palace of Auburn Hills incident.  Nowadays fights look more like the Raja Bell - Kobe thing than anything else...

I agree that the league is "softer" now, I wish they didn't tech people for small outbursts during important moments in big games, or long and expensive penalties for slight altercations, but I am glad it's not like hockey either.

I'm fine with no fights, if you can even call them that (from recent memory, we have a couple of slap fests and some thugs going into the stands to beat up much smaller fans).  I don't mind intense, physical basketball, but I'd just as soon not see a repeat of the Detroit situation.

If I want to see fighting, I'll watch the NHL or WNBA, thanks.

I wish the basketball was more physical. I was one of the few guys that really liked the toughness and attitude of Van Gundy's knicks

Nope, absolutely not.

Physical basketball is a beauty, and our team played plenty of that.

There weren't any more fights when the games were more physical than there are now.  The difference in the game pre-Jordan and the game now is that the players policed themselves when things got too physical with an enforcer.  Now Stern does it.  It's neutered the game.

But the officials weren't paid to coddle and protect certain players then, either.

well the celtics sure as hell weren't going to fist fight people... they had bigger goals. anthony was still suffering from his bad reputation caused by his previous fight and artest hasn't recovered him the palace brawl. in the nba today, people get throw out too quickly. i say let'em fight; that is, themselves and not fans.

God I still love to see DET-IND brawl but it's the main reason that there are no more fights in the NBA.

Every fight is awesome in sports, people take it way too seriously. So long as they're ready to accept their punishment, which they have no choice but to be, it's all good every time. Stern doesn't let things get out of control, I think it's great exactly how it is. That being said, I can't say that I'm not disappointed that Leon never did fulfill my wish of mangling Ginobili's flakey flopping face into a pulp with a Thai clinch loaded with alternating knee shots, followed up by a Superman punch to the sternum, finished off with a supremely svelte Peruvian necktie.

Just what this world needs...more violence.

If I want to see any fights, I'll just watch the 6 o'clock news.
