Looks like they will be a lottery team. I don't think they will win 20 games, especially is VC gets injured.

Krstic and Nachbar are of course gone, both signing in Russia.

Yeah, they're going to be lousy, alright.  20 games sounds like a fair estimate.  30, tops, and that would be a minor miracle, as outside of maybe Harris, they don't have a lot of leaders on that team.  VC, Simmons, and Swift are all prone to lack of focus / effort, and Sean Williams has certain issues of his own.

The only players on that team I'd want in Boston are Harris, Boone, and the rookies.  Otherwise, ugh.

I think they will be very competitive with the Knicks for worst record in the league.

They still have 4 Centers on their roster in Lopez, Boone, Swift and Williams.

Lot of unknowns for the Nets right now. Their success is going to hinge on the development of their young players, especially Yi. If a few of those guys step forward they could be alright.

Without large progress from their youth they're likely the worst team in the East

I think if Williams is available for the right price, you have to at least consider him too. I know he has a poor reputation in Boston, but he could be very useful on this team.

Funny that team's leader is Vince Carter. He won't play 20 games before he hits the injured reserve.

I read somewhere that they may have the cap room for Lebron, but Cleveland is set up to have a ton of cap space when Lebron is up as well. So Cleveland should have the money to pay him more than any other team. It will be a real slap in the face to Cleveland fans if he leaves and take less money than Cleveland is offering to play for a terrible Brooklyn team.

I still hate the Nets from 2002 and 2003.  I hope they go 15-67.

Let's look at this roster before we dismiss this team, because we might end up seeing them in the first round (remember, this is the east):

Harris / Dooling
Carter / Harris
Simmons / Hayes
Jianlian / Williams
Boone / Lopez

They have a very solid back court, probably rated better than ours by most accounts. Harris is very good, the Dooling signing will allow him to play off the ball for stretches, and Carter is a perennial all-star.

They should be fine at small forward, with Simmons providing solid defense and replacing about 70% of Jefferson's scoring. Hayes is a decent backup, and CDR has some upside.

The front court is where things get interesting. They have some offensive options with Jianlian and Lopez, and defensive options with Boone (Better numbers than Perk last season, in equal time) and Williams. I think coach Frank will probably get them all around 24 minutes per night until one group emerges. Najera and Swift seem completely redundant, but might get some  burn if the young guys stink.

With a very good back court and solid small forward, this team will win as many games as their young front court lets them. I predict between 32-38 wins next season.
"All I have to know is, he's my coach, and I follow his lead. He didn't have to say anything in here this week. We all knew what we had to do. He's a big part of our family, and we're like his extended family. And we did what good families do when one of their own is affected." - Teddy Bruschi

I think they had a very good/to outstanding draft with lopez, anderson and douglas/roberts....got a steal (harris and 2 #1s) in the kidd trade and are heading in the right direction....also picked up a #1 for m williams....now if they get rid of that dog carter, they'll be strong when they get to brooklyn

oh yes....forgot to mention, despite my positive vibes, anytime any ny/nj team plays, i root against them

If they can find a sucker to take the wimp Carter and they get something for him they'd be a much better team.
