The Atlanta Hawks have rounded out their coaching staff with today's hiring of Terry Porter as assistant coach. Terms were not disclosed, per team policy.
"Throughout his years as a player and as a coach, Terry's consistently demonstrated an aptitude for defensive basketball," said Hawks head coach Nate McMillan. "I feel blessed to have two great assistants in Flip and Terry, both of whom have had significant head coaching experience in the league. They are going to make my job a heck of a lot easier."
The Hawks also announced today that Iranian center Hamed Ehadadi has been cleared to play in the NBA, and is expected to join the team this coming year. However, the Hawks current roster now stands at 16 players, meaning some roster activity (either a trade or the release of a player) will have to take place in the coming week when the moratorium on player movement has been lifted.
