It'll be interesting to look at this trend a few years from now. We've clearly heard about a lot more "high"-er profile American players (and their european counterparts in the nba) headed to europe. I'm sure every year there are a bunch of ncaa players that go over, but that it doesn't make the news, but this year it's been bigger names and bigger money.
Lets say its 5 years from now;
are American's still crossing the pond to play because the moneys better, better yet are the staying the length of their contracts or just using it as a bump year (or two) to get a better deal in the nba, or waiting for a more lucrative free-agent season?
Are European teams still willing to spend money on American players (there could a number of reason yes or no)?
Are European players still coming over to the NBA to play in the, "best league in the world", or are they staying in Europe in the first place?
Does the US economy rebound (and conversly does the Euro stay strong?)? does this affect players going over seas?
Does this force the NBA to make a major push to developing NBA-Europe?
There are so many unknowns at this point, it's rather exciting.
