You know he would love to be back in Boston.  He has the potential...but I like the fact he wants to be a student of the game more.  Good luck Gerald!

These threads will go on until his career is finally over.

So we've only got a year or two to weather.

Thankfully.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I'm not overly impressed by that interview. Gerald always knew how to talk the talk. Getting him to walk the walk and put in the work seems to have been his issue (Atleast according to Doc & Pierce). Hopefully he really has figured it out.

From his Summer League numbers it seems he still hasn't figured out how to play. In 21 minutes Gerald is averaging 13 points and 3 boards on 36% shooting this year in Summer League. I think that Pruitt is easily a better prospect than Green at this point.

1. Regarding the subject title, no, in fact I don't have to root for this kid. I don't see exactly what some of the members of this blog see in him. His time is past and he is barely an NBA player.

2. Regarding:

You know he would love to be back in Boston.

It kinda sounded like he wasn't so thrilled with the Celtics when he said he was glad for the fans but not the team. That sounds more like he might not actualli like to be back in Boston.

3. Regarding:

I like the fact he wants to be a student of the game more.

So the first grade equivalent of a basketball player wants to become a student of the game while at the same time playing with PHD's of the game. Good luck, Gerald, indeed.

It's funny watching Gerald in the two summer league games I saw of him. He's actually making a few veteran plays and he's still dumb in comparison to other players on the court.

He's just so far behind.

Green has one assist in four games and 86 minutes.  He's 5-11 from beyond the arc, but 9 for 27 inside it.  Did he model his game on that autistic kid from upstate New York. J-Mac? Is that the kind of numbers a three year NBA vet should be putting up in summer league?

This guy needs to go somewhere (Europe, D League, Philippines) and play basketball for a year or two and actually learn how to play. If GG can't at least develop an in between game, he won't be an NBA player.

It's nice to hear him praise the Celtics fans.

Nevertheless, he really is a horrible communicator.
