Hey C's fans!

Hardcore celtics fan living on the wrong coast (California).  I'll be in Boston next week on a business trip.  Unfortunately, I'm in and out...and I only have half a day to visit any Celtics sites.

Can any of you Boston natives give me ideas on where I could spend my time if I wanted to see anything related to the Celtics?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

I'm going to bump this for myself.  You guys are the best C's fans in the world...so surely 1 or 2 of you will have suggestions?   :)

wow, aside from the Sports Museum at the Garden  (see link)  I am clueless.
http://www.tdbanknorthgarden.com/sportsmuseum/

City hall where the rallies were held in the 80s?  The bar where Bird hurt his hand in 1985 is long gone as is the importance of Hellenic College.

There really aren't many "Celtics Sites" around the city... you could always stop by Quincy Market and get your picture taken with the Red Auerbach statue (and Larry Bird's bronzed sneakers)... or just hang out at the Pro Shop at the Garden... and look at trains.

Sorry... not too much to offer.

You could visit Cheers.  They had a few episodes that mentioned the C's.

you gotta visit the banknorth garden and just walk around inside it. its like all that tv in real life ;P

does anyone know if they actually let you into the arena when the celtics aren't playing? possibly walk around on the floor of the garden?

You can visit City Hall Plaza in Gov't Center where in 1981, Larry Bird told thousands of fans, 'Moses does eat [poop]' after seeing a sign of it in the crowd.

How about Mike Pastry's Shop in the North End? I saw a clip of Pollard making some cannoli earlier this season.

  • Ben Pepper - kept under wraps since 1997
Celtics-specific sites:

1. New England Sports Museum (located inside the TD Banknorth Garden)
For schedule: http://www.tdbanknorthgarden.com/sportsmuseum/hours.asp

2. Faneuil Hall: Where statue of Red Auerbach and bronzed shoes of Larry Bird is located.

3. The Fours Restaurant (located across from the Garden): Voted #1 sports  bar in America by Sports Illustrated, is located across the street from the Garden and has a lot of cool Celtics/sports-related memorabilia.

That could keep you occupied for a few hours and Faneuil Hall is a 5 minute walk from the Garden.

With the 55th pick in the 1997 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics select Ben Pepper, from Australia.

Hey everyone,

Flight leaves tomorrow.  Thank you everyone for your feedback!  I'll take some pics with Red's statue and maybe LB's sneakers.  LOL.

Wish I had more time out there.
