Banks need to learn at a lower level than a contender. Miami isn't a bad place for him, he can back up Mario Chalmers.
I agree he has a worse contract and is not as good of a locker room guy, but I 100% think he is a much better player. His game has improved quite a bit since he played in Boston.
Who would have an easier time playing a solid role on a contender? I say contender because that's what this team is. I definitely think Scalabrine would be a better piece, I'm quite comfortable with Scal as my second big man (behind a solid backup center type). I'm not at all comfortable with Banks being my backup point guard.
If they were both asked to be the second best player on a 15 win team, who would do better? I'd say Banks. He didn't do very well with that opportunity last season, hopefully he'll do better next time round.
