It doesn't say how many years or how much they are paying Gibson, but if they used the MLE, what does that mean for Delonte West and what sort of contract he can get from the Cavs?  I read the Cavs board a few days ago and some of the fans agreed that Gibson is the one to give MLE money to and let West sweat out his contract.

What kind of contract do you think Delonte will get from the Cavs?

I don't know but Delonte was the only guy other than Lebron that was coming up big in the series against us. He would aggresively go to the basket, get to the line, play hard D, and just go for it and play fearless. If they don't give him a good offer I think the C's should try to get him back here.

the lowest possable. the cavs will match whatever they get for him within reason. From what ive heard, teams aren't beating down the cavs door to offer west somethign they can't easily match.

sort of intersting if we dont get BGJ back, we could at least make clevland spend more than the minimum by offering west 2-3 mill a year or something

I'm not really interested in getting Delonte back (still rather have House), but I was surprised that the Cavs seem to value Gibson more.  I thought Delonte played better than Gibson in the playoffs and that they would try to sign him first.

I still think there is a good chance West plays for the qualifying offer to become an unrestricted FA next year.

It has to be a tough choice to sign a deal with a team that has a star player believed to be leaving in 2 years.

Would $15 million over 4 years be enough to get him out of Cleveland?

How angry would Pruitt be?

Cleveland would match that.  Less the 4 million a year for their starting PG?

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Delonte West > Eddie House.

He'd be a great 6th man if Posey were to leave.

Pruitt would be out of a job though.

Cleveland has coveted Delonte for some time.  I doubt they don't match a $3.5m a year offer.

They did not have to use the MLE for Gibson.  The Cavs had "early Bird" rights.

can they match such an offer now that they've given gibson the MLE?

i was under the impression that teams have to be under cap to match, i may be completly wrong on that though, and it may be unrestricted on matching. chances are im wrong lol  ;)
