According to the rumor mill on CNNSI, one of the reasons that the Wolves decided to trade Walker was because of his negative influence on Big Al. Now you can say a lot of negative things about Antoine, shot selection, weight issues, lack of extra pass etc., but that he is a bad influence on another player ? I just don't but this, they got rid of him cause he has a horrible contract and he isn't an 1/10 of what he use to be. Plus after this year his contract is done so more reason for Memphis to take him. #8 is a great guy and teammate, just sucks at basketball now.

He was probably convincing Big Al Jeff that he should explore his 3-pt game.

  • The good ole days.
I never got the impression that he was that great of a guy...  ever since I saw an news-journalism piece on NBA players "planting their seed" while on the road and ignoring the fruits of their labor from then on.  Antoine was one of the main subjects, with at least 1 or 2 confirmed 'abandoned' children conceived on road trip romances.

But I don't know him personally, and I don't know the full truth or extent of the story, so I won't pass to much judgment or consider him any worse than the norm for athletes.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Wasn't one of the reasons antoine was allowed to leave the second time because Danny didn't think he and Al could exist on the same team?

Maybe they just don't get along.

Jefferson: But Antoine, I have a pretty good post game. Why would I pull up for three? I haven't shot a three in about six years.

Walker: So you can dance after if you make it, idiot.

I think it had more to do with both of them being power forwards than anything else.  Danny didn't want Toine to slide to the 3 or Al to slide to the 5, probably both for good defensive reasons.

Walker was always whining about referee calls instead of getting back on defense.  Paul picked this up and was doing the same thing.  Thought I saw KG telling Paul to get back, and he stopped whining after that and his defense really picked up.   At least, that is how I saw it....
