ESPN needs to hurry up and get their trade calculator updated, in reference to Memphis' cap room.  That would make trades like this so much easier to pull off in wacky ways.

I dont know about you guys, but I would Trade Ray Allen & Rondo for Al Jefferson anyday of the week. Heck I would even throw in Perk if they gave us Brewer in return. Then I would definitely turn up the Stephon debate because he would have to be my starter then. But Allen & Rondo for Al by himself is a no-brainer!

The trade that would permanently  crash the CelticsBlog servers:

Like many of you, the number of discussion threads about Ray Allen, Antoine Walker & Al Jefferson has me shaking my head. So with that in mind, I am offering forth the trade that would crash the CelticBlog servers for life, have half of you dancing in the streets and the other half reporting to the Tobin.

With zero regard to winning any more championships, but respecting the wishes of oh so many of us and the required cap maneuverings enforced by Mr. Stern's office, I present to you

THE TRADE

To the Celtics
Antoine Walker (Do you hear the bells all over town ringing?  It’s true, it’s true, he’s returned)
Al Jefferson (Al will be adding a new middle name once he returns “Walk on Water” rejoice, rejoice)
and to make the numbers work:
Randy Foye  (yeah whatever)

To the Memphis Grizzlies
(Wait before we continue, a special thank you to Mr. Chris Wallace for helping make this CelticsBlog dream come true)
Kendrick Perkins (Sorry Big Guy, enjoy the ring – Employee #8 is once again wigglin on Causeway)
Brian Scalabrine (Ah, Brian we are going to miss your ever so important discussion points)
And to make the numbers work:
Rashad McCants (blah, blah, blah)

To the Minnesota Timberwolves
(And a HOF thank you and a case of Miller Lite to Kevin McHale for once again stepping in when Celticsblog needed you most)
Ray Allen (Ah, thank god he’s gone)
And unfortunately to make the numbers work:
Rajon Rondo (someone had to be sacrificed to bring the heroes home and to rid the green of Mr. Allen, we thank you for your sacrafice)

Our summer is complete!!!!!  Everyone take August off, See ya in September.

Not being able to get Mark Blount is a dealbreaker. Also, make sure we have enough cap space to sign Ricky Davis.

yeah maybe they could trade kg for blount straight up. then trade powe and baby for davis

while theyre at it maybe toine and blount could team up at all star break to persuade vin baker our of retirement ala pj brown

The only thing you guys are forgetting is to fire Doc and bring on Dana Barros as the new head coach.

Good idea, but Aaron has him replacing Rondo.  Barros player-coach?  I'm in.

Don't forget Walter McCarty and Sherman Douglas coming out of retirement.

I want E-Will too!

And don't forget Vin Baker as social coordinator for the team.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I want me some Vitaly Potapenko. Thats what I want. I want Potapenko starting at the 5, and legally renamed "Soda Popinski". Until then, this move is rubbish. Plain rubbish.

It's not enough to drag the poor man back from Europe to a place where he can no longer smoke his 4 packs a day indoors, you want him to change his name too?

Ok, that's fair.  Sign 'em.

Forget all this crap.  Let's just sign Darth Vader and be done with it.

Man does not breath in the house of Vader!

Darth Vader at center, talk about intimidating defense.
Steve Perry of Aerosmith at power forward... I think this is obvious.
Anton Chigurh from No Country For Old Men at the 'small' forward.  Talk about adding some toughness.
Gandalf at the shooting guard... LIGHTS OUT!
And Rondo at point, you know, to keep it stable.

6th man is Godzilla, so we can tap into that huge Asian market.  Plus, duh, he's green.

Oh yeah, the coach?  Leonidas from the 300.  I think he'll have some good pre-game speeches.  Also, throw in batman.  Somewhere, anywhere.
