NAME CONFIRMATION??

Looks like Roy was right with Thundercats!! Check out this video of the NJ vs OKC game. The announcer right off says the game is between the New Jersey Nets and the Oklahoma City Thundercats.

I'm not sure that's official, nick.  I found this online:

Quote
If you've been watching the Orlando games, don't you love the commentators, Dante and Galante?  They have very little professionalism, but they are hilarious.  They nicknamed Tyrus Thomas the "Soul Eater" and tried to name Oklahoma City's team, finally settling on the Thundercats.  This is the sort of entertainment David Stern needs to provide to shed his uptight image.  Thank you, Orlando Magic.

The announcers called them that because they were partially joking around. I read an article on it and they said at the beginning that they would just call them anything for that game and they went for Thundercats, they were sick of saying "Oklahoma City" scores. It was kind of a joke.

Also, about the OKC Marshals site...I saw the rumor on that one and yes it was fan created and yes they did, at one point redirect to the NBA's site. But I looked up this Domain, and it is NOT registered with the same company that ALL the NBA teams use, and that the Thunderbirds.com are using.

good news:  The name is not thunderbirds.  The reason it is registered with the nba people is because there is a D league team named the Thunderbirds.  I believe they are from Albuquerque.

I would love for it to be thundercats though.  That would be awesome.
