You don't want to pay the guy who brought you success (Davis), but you're going to pay Maggette and Turiaf close to 15 mil per yr? The Warriors will never be good. Turiaf?

I would not be happy with the direction my franchise is going if I was a Warriors fan.

I dont know whats uglier, the total pricetag or amount of years.  GS is just coming off as desperate now and will be regretting this almost instantly.

While its extremely unlikely, I kind of hope the Lakers match though.

Yet another poor decision by Golden State.  They would have been so much better off saving their cap room, and making a run at any number of free agents next season.  Instead, they're spending money like a drunken sailor on mediocre players.

If Turiaf is getting $4.25 million, there's no way we're getting Posey for less than the full MLE.  It's one thing when New York spends like idiots.  Golden State, though?  Ridiculous.

Miami. James Jones 5 years 23 million. Whatever it is, guess it is going around.

Yup, I'm blown away by this deal. I thought he would get 12/4 tops. He's a good hard working backup 4/5. But no better than a 9th or 10th man.

He's a fan favorite in LA. I wonder if the Lakers will match. I doubt it.

Just a few thoughts on this topic:  1) What is GS thinking;  2) Why in the world would Baron Davis still sign with GS;  3) How do we sign Posey for less;  4) What is Powe going to be worth next year?  The whole world is being turned upside down.

1. GS is panicking
2. I think BD will go to LAC in the end. Could be interesting if LAC grabs Josh Smith too.
3. I still think one way or another Posey will be back in green. One side or the other will cave.
4. Powe isn't worth as much as Turiaf. Powe is always going to be undersized. Turiaf has good size for a back up 4/5. Those guys always get $$. I think as is, Powe is worth $7/3.

Well if Scal is making 3 mill a year....Turiaf should make about 4 per year.

Then again I think Powe and Big Baby are better than Turiaf and I wouldn't give them 4 mill a year either.

That's not good news for us in regard to posey...I assume that he and his agent will ask for AT LEAST that, if not a bunch more, to get him back in green.

Panic in the streets out there.

;D Nearly 7-ft and plays with energy...Good defender...from all accounts a good guy.  Vital role player on a team which made the Finals.

Doesn't sound like a panic move to me.  Sounds like a good move.

On the other hand, they traded a top-tier pouting player who plays when he feels like it (Davis) for a solid, cheaper player who plays when he can.  (Maggette).

I don't have a problem with that move, either.....As long as they find a PG.

ESPN thinks the Lakers will match it. :-\
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Too much money for a player who's decent at best. Hustle and passion doesn't equal ability.

We signed Perkins to the same deal, and everyone thought it was a steal.

Perkins is a better rebounder, defender and scorer than Turiaf. Its a good deal for a starting center not for a guy who's a 9th or 10th man.
