he didnt say his proposed team would be cheap to put together, or even that is was likely to come about... which it isnt.

he only wrote that with those players, the celtics would win 72 games.

it might be possible since the big 3 have played together for a year now, and maggette and posey would lead an impressive bench.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Had a few things been just a bit different, this past year's bunch would have won 72 as well.

You are right.  I would cut Pruitt and encourage Walker to go overseas with  Giddens.

This team could win 82 games:

PG - Steve Nash, Tony Parker, Deron Williams
SG - Kobe Bryant, Ray Allen, Michael Redd
SF - Lebron James, PP,
PF - KG, Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki
C - Dwight Howard, Amare Stoudemire, Shaq

It would cost a lot of money, and would be hard to put together...

Please people. Be serious. That lineup mentioned has absolutely no way of happening any more than this one above. Of course it would win 72 games, but you can't sign all those people...

I am serious.  I hope you are not.  We want to be the world champions, it will cost money.  It could be done without having the highest pay roll in the league.  If you can win the championship without having the highest payroll in the league, that would be an accomplishment.

You can't PAY all of these guys even if you wanted to under the salary cap. It isn't even possible. Anymore than my ridiculous lineup. It's not just about being willing to pay the money out, it's about being able to do it "legally" under the rules. It doesn't work.

The NY Knicks had a payroll of $91M last year.  Boston's was $71M.  I think we could fill out that roster with an extra $20M a year.

Who's Randolph? Zach?? And Harrison is David? Those two guys together?  :o

I mean, I live 3000kms away from Boston, so I shouldn't care much, but I'd feel very sorry for their community. Are you a bored policeman or something?

Anyway, that team could win 75 to 80 games, as long as gunfights in the locker room and drug-related arrests were avoided.

Not Zack.  Morris, the guy the Celtics are looking at now.  Morris would be a cheap 3rd string C.  See I am frugal.

You obviously don't know how the salary cap works enough, to know that you just can't say that we are willing to spend the money. They were able to overspend because these guys commanding these monster contracts were on their own roster. We can't bring in these guys you are wanting to add like this. It doesn't work! It's not possible. Of COURSE it would be nice to add all the good free agents out there, but you can't legally do it! If it did, the C's would just offer Posey a 3 year 25 million dollar contract or something which he would jump at.

Roy Hobbs, are you around for arbitration?  We need a contract meister.  Please help.
