Don't have a link but I saw on the moving bottom bar on ESPN that Duhon and the Knicks agreed to a 2 year deal.

Full MLE. Two year deal. Keeps the cap space for 2010. Smart.

Mirror image of the Steve Blake Portland deal 12 months ago. That worked well.

Good move for the Knicks. Duhon can help that team.

Wow, no max contract? What gives? I thought for sure the Knicks would sign him through 2080 with a base salary of $450,000,000 with an option on his grandchildren.

They're paying Duhon $6 million per year?  Wow.

If nothing else, this deal should put to rest any ideas that it won't take a full MLE deal to keep Posey in Boston.  The only question will be how many years should Ainge be willing to give him.

I'd say the Knicks are not interested in Eddie House any longer.

I liked Duhon but the full MLE for him? No thanks, especially when we're basically 50/50 for Maggette and he's a far better player, obviously.

And I am really going to laugh really, really hard when NJ and NY don't get LeBron in 2010. All that salary managing and tanking for nothing.

Funny I'd say the Nets are frontrunners for Lebron in 2010 with the Cavs being in second.

LOL. They're basically paying him for 4 years, but he only has to play two. You think they could have arranged it where they had a buyout for year 3 and/or 4 or a club option at least. I mean I know they want Lebron, but there's no guarantee they get him. Also, I think the Knicks are way over the luxury tax, so does this mean that CHRIS DUHON IS COSTING THEM 12 MILLION A YEAR?  That would be amazing.

That's funny.   $5.8MM will buy you what?

In all seriousness, this wasn't a bad move. Duhon hits the 3 ball, plays defense, and won't kill you with mistakes.

A pass-first defensive minded pg, who takes good care of the ball and has decent range in his shot.

On the other hand, NY also bought another party goer to join that roster. Do you think D'Antoni will "invite" Duhon to sleep in his house, as a former coach of him? ;)

About the price... it's a very smart move considering that there are no budgetary restrictions in NY. This way, they can resign him in 2 years if they want to keep him without using MLE/LLE and without the risk of being outbided. But it's shame. It's happening the same thing in Portland: they'll be able to resign all their free-agents because they don't have budgetary restrictions. NBA should consider to do something about this.

This would get rid of Steph i'd think, since Duhon signed there so he could start.

They have Jared Jeffries, Jerome James, and Quentin Richardson who at best start occasionally.  Why would this be any different?

True, I am not sure even that Duhon is a starting PG in this league.  Still it seems to to me that they want to move on from the Steph era as quickly as possible.  Also Duhon's comments on his signing seemed like it was agreed upon that he would be the starter if he was to sign.  (as opposed to a backup with the magic)
