Walker wants out: With the Wolves in a youth movement, forward Antoine Walker's agent said he has talked to the team about a trade or buyout of the 12-year veteran's contract.

"Antoine's a heck of a player," agent Mark Bartelstein said. "He wants to play. I wouldn't say anything is imminent, but we're talking to the Wolves and we'll see if we can work something out."

Here's some more hilarity :

Quote
Antoine Walker's agent said he has talked to the Wolves "a bunch" about finding a solution for a former All Star who has one year (at $9.3 million) remaining on his contract and presumably no prospects of playing much on such a young team. Walker did not play the final 30 games last season.

"We're working on it," said agent Mark Bartelstein, who said both a trade and contract buyout remain options. "Antoine's in great shape and he wants to play. Antoine needs to be in a place where he can do what he does. We'll look at everything and see what makes the most sense for everyone."

There's more I just added above....he should find a team that would give him a chance to play regularly 'cause on a young team, he's not going to get any chance in hell...

I'm reminded of Mo Vaughn's agent talking about how Mo was  in incredible shape right before he left town.

That must've meant "incredibly BIG-BONED", I suppose?    ::)

The Mets found that out the hard way...or the FAT way.  ;D

Ah, a Mo Vaughn reference!  Always fun times.  My favorite Mo comment, courtesy of the "daily rant" in the NY paper Newsday:

"Mo Vaughn underwent successful surgery to remove the fork from his hand."

Too bad the statement was false.  He took his share of bites during his stay in the Big Apple.

I thought this was going to be about Bill Walker. People are still talking about Antoine? Unbelievable...

Have I got a deal for you, Mark:

You get Fatoine bought out, and I'll bring him in at the vet minimum.

In return, you deliver Posey to me at under the full MLE.

Yours,
Danny Ainge.

I doubt Walker goes anywhere.  His expiring contract / team option is much too valuable to just waste.  The Twolves could you his deal to bring in a legit player, although I'm guessing their ownership will be too cheap to do so.

I suspect Jimmy is more valuable than Fatoine.

Even though Jimmy's sort of the ultimate expiring contract - he's dead.

That's sort of like saying I'd rather have the bubonic plague than have ebola haemorrhagic fever.

Both are going to kill you quick, it just depends on how ugly you want it to get.

Especially if they're looking to draft OJ Mayo. I guess that in this case some sort of package of Walker + McCants + picks will be on the market. Maybe even with Foye instead of McCants if the offer is right.
