MVP Poll How To: If you remember the drill, great.  If not, just wing it.  .

Wow, wow, wow...I was going to cop out and just post the poll without making too many comments because I am actually starting to get busy at work and really should be concentrating on that, but I can't just let this one go that easy.

Doc talked a lot about never getting the full 48 minutes from the Celts during the playoffs.  What a time to break it out.  An utterly dominant performance in a clincher for the ages.  After a sloppy first quarter the Celts stepped on the Lakers and ran them off the court.

[dang it], I'm actually getting busy here ::)  I gotta run

Tough to vote on this one because everyone was great, but I go with

3) KG - answered the call
2) Rondo - pesky waterbug performance
1) Ray Allen - 7 3's after getting eyeball gouged out!

(I'm leaving PP off this list because he's done enough, but he was his usual great self last night, dishing the ball around and he got the hardware)

Yup

Went with Rondo and Allen.

Wanted to vote for Phil Jackson's schemes but it wasn't listed.

Rondo, Ray, KG, Pierce, House, Posey.

But all in all, a TEAM EFFORT.

Ah, the beauty of it all!

As I said I'd do in the game thread. I gave one each to Rondo, Pierce, Posey, KG, Ray, and Eddie.

Firstly, thanks again Redz, for putting these together all year long  :)

WOW, just superlative play in the true meaning of the term, UBUNTU by this team in this game.
I do believe they jelled and peaked in this game for the full 48 minutes, indefatigable on team defence and rotations and in their matchups individually. This is where it starts, as was their intention all year long, showcased never better than in this final Finals game. Great coaching by Mister Tibbs and each assistant coach needs to be acknowledged along with the umbrella and overview of Doc Rivers, the game time decision maker and stedying voice of this teams collective direction.

1 vote: Paul Is the heart and soul of his team, so very deserving of the title Captain, willing to do all the other many things other than scoring even(10 assts), if that is whats called for leading to victory(s). Therefore he is rightfully deserving of the MVP hardware.

2 votes: Mister Ray Allen will recieve my MVP game vote here for his dedication on his defensive assignments, again being the consumate professional and an assasin with the long ball(holy crap, 22 threes in this series of six games, and seven in this one game ::) and taking it fearlessly to the hole (great example for the young and ever developing Rondo who needs to see this happen in the game) A beautiful example of smarts, atheletisisim and passion for the game with one of the purest strokes ever witnessed, for my game MVP vote.

1 vote: Mister Kevin Garrnet, mister defensive work ethic who no doubt is the team example setter possesing the instincts, desire, techniques, lenth, strenth high Bball I.Q, and is the talkative heat of this teams defensive ability setting the table by example that a team needs to feed off from for its intensity. I know defense is the most tiring and draining of endevors to put out on the court, having played a bit in my time. The effort required along with the physical tools, desire and skills to be effective, and here he is, Mister Kevin Garnett embodies all of these attributes. A true leader and if ever the term BEAST with finess on the court playing defense needed to be personified, here he is. The man deserves to be on a Wheeties box, or somethin'  ;)

1 vote: Mister Ragon Rondo, put out a tremendous effort on the defensive end with speed and his qickness of feet and hands poking and pulling the ball away for 6 steals and only one turn over in 32 minutes. A champion point guard of our long future together here in Boston who has a great handle with speed of foot to be one of the truely greats in the game with alot of experience now in his possesion on how to contribute when surrounded with tallent. I really like the mans potential in our teams future! ;)

1 vote: Mister James Posey again, a superlative effort on defence and hustle with great footwork being tennacious in a strong willed tough body! Big Game James, indeed  ;)

If this is working for you, go to the Around the NBA page and read as much Steve Weinman as you can.  Look on the left sidebar of the page, about three page lengths down.

Whenever I read one of Steve's enjoyable articles, I'm treated to this beauty:

NBA STATISTICS
POINTS Ray Allen 26
REBOUNDS Kevin Garnett 14
ASSISTS Paul Pierce 10

Field Goal% James Posey 1.000
Free Throw% Leon Powe 1.000
3-Point% James Posey 1.000
Blocks PJ Brown 1
Steals Rajon Rondo 6
Turnovers Pau Gasol 5

Seeing those names and those three smiling mugs gets me giddy every time.
We're the ones we've been waiting for.
