Give him thanks and give him praise because he's the guy that made tonight possible because he ultimately made you a Celtic for life.

Give thanks to the guy that molded and the guy that nurtured. Give thanks to the guy that taught and the guy that made the color Green important in your life.

Give thanks to the guy that was there through the good and the bad. The guy that showed the way and explained why the Celtic way was the only way. The guy that made you want to have a parquet floor in your bedroom.

Give thanks to the guy that showed why Celtic Pride is not a saying or a slogan, it was a way of life.

Give thanks to that guy because when you are celebrating the 17th World Championship in Boston Celtic history know that he was the guy that put that joy in your life.

Because he's the guy that made the Celtics great, he's the man the court is named after and he's the guy that will be lighting up a very thick cigar in heaven.

Thank Arnold Red Auerbach because without him, none of this would ultimately have been possible.

Think of it this way, if it weren't for Red, we very well could have been cheering for the Boston Clippers all these years. <shudders at thought>

Him too:

But yes, to echo nick's sentiment, Red is the one who instituted "Celtic Pride" in the first place.  It's pride like that that made Danny Ainge want to come back here and rebuild this franchise, and I think in part that pride is why Paul Pierce was willing to give the team the benefit of the doubt as long as he did.

All the negativity in this town sucks. It sucks, and it stinks, and it sucks. - Rick Pitino

Red will "be there" tonight. Look for some strange bounces for LA...
Now, on to 18...

Hope he can bounce some of our free throws in tonight like he did before. If Jackson is going to pass him in Championships it won't be on Boston's floor.
Peace through Tyranny

I thought this thread was going to be about Chris Wallace, b/c without him, we'd be celebrating as the Spurs, Hornets, or Jazz walked off the floor dejected. That wouldn't be as much fun. ;D

We all know this man...Thank you Theo for somehow pulling off a deal that pays you about 12 million a year before you were bought out by kevin mchale and signed with the pistons, who o by the way, we stomped over.
