I'm gonna say the Ticket gets 29 points, 14 rebounds, 4 dimes, 3 blocks. But knowing how little sleep he gets before big games, he could flop.

Regardless, Pierce scores in the 30s again, wins MVP, and begins to hear whispers that he's more impactful than da Black Mamba...

OK KG is not the clutch scorer; Pierce is - then maybe Ray. But KG is the anchor of our defense. Let's not forget that. I don't really appreciate the way you phrase him as an "overpriced pick-setter"; without KG, we would have been swept in the first round of the playoff, if we ever made it.
It's our job (fans) to point out what is wrong with the team, it's the coach's job NOT to listen to us.

You should have conducted this poll:

Could ZoSo have been more smarmy in coming up for a title for this thread?

Does this really deserve its own thread?

I think it's about time everyone stopped ripping on Kevin Garnett and start showing the man some gratitude for getting us here in the first place.

Some of you are brutal, I was angry too when he missed the free throws, but he couldn't get into his rhythm due to foul trouble. Not to mention the fact that he didn't have Perkins, his defensive bash-brother.

Garnett is going to be just fine and he'll bring it home for us tonight.

Who cares about stats and numbers??? Just win the [dang] game.

Funny how one can tell a winners mindset and a losers mindset apart, even on a forum.

  • The good ole days.
Don't forget that all those picks and Pau's refusal to leave KG are a huge reason why Pierce has been able to get into the paint with such ease.  This is a team game, and the Celtics function as a team.

Also don't forget that those two putbacks that people are mad at KG for missing came after missed layups by Allen and Pierce.

As many have said, KG is not THE reason the Celtics lost that game.  There were several.  KG's missed FTs and putbacks... Pierces 2 TOs (Kobe fouled on one) and the missed layup... Allen missed a layup and several open 3s in the 2nd half... Perk's absence.  Hanging it all on KG might be convenient for the forum, but that doesn't make it right.

In all fairness to Kobe, he's not trying to score against the Lakers defense.

BTW, this thread title makes you sound like you started following the Celts during the middle of the finals.

I would love to see his offense get going, but he has no reason to redeem himself.  Take away his rebounding and defense, the Celtics are not up at this point.

Whatever it is that KG has done to not deserve his paycheck works fine by me so long as the Celts win one more game.

Any thoughts as to what the Celts would be doing in June if KG was playing elsewhere?

Yup

Let me get this straight....last year we were bad.

We add Ray-Ray (struggled early in the playoffs and
now is a God to most) and KG (who anchors our defense
and provides that fire that most of the NBA only
dreams of) and become the leagues best team record
wise.

KG is one of the main reasons we are here. Fine, he
hasnt been perfect on the offensive end but I have
never seen him quit and I cant say that for all of the
Lakers collectively.

Red is shaking his head....Beat LA! I dont care how or
who does it...just do it.
