That just made my afternoon! TP to OP!  Even if Perk can only give us 10-12 minutes, he gives us rebounding, a wide body on defense, fouls to give, and most importantly time where KG doesn't have to risk getting in foul trouble on Gasol.

Never thought I would appreciate the big guy so much, but he really helps our chances to close things out tonight.

I just heard that on WEEI.  Great news, although I am not all that confident he will be able to go long.  But hopefully he can give them a few good minutes at the beginning of each half to help set the tone, and knock Pau down a couple notches.  I think just having him out there at the beginning will be huge for Garnett as well, who I expect to have a huge nigth.

Cautiously optimistic.  This brings me a few steps further away from the ledge I was on last night.  Thanks to all who helped talk me off.

Perk hasn't played since last Thursday, so that's a good 4+ days of rest and rehab.  Doc and the trainers probably knew he could give it a shot on Sunday, but decided the extra couple of days and the home crowd would be beneficial.

I have no idea why they don't shoot him up with a cortisone injection. He won't feel a thing. If it is getting better day by day then it isn't REAL serious. Trust me. I have done this. It felt like brand new.

As far as the tip off. If he is right handed and it is his left shoulder that is hurt, it doesn't really matter. He would be stretching his right shoulder/arm, not the injured one.

JUICE THE MAN UP! Recover in the offseason while staring at your ring!
I've had three two in the right and one in the left, and let's say my results didn't come close. Treatment and painkillers do prevent feeling, but why would you do that to a 23 year old with a promising career?

Wow. I feel slightly less nervous now. Who would've thought 8 months ago that Perk's availability for a Finals game would be so significant?

Like others have said, even if he can go for just a few minutes, it will be big. I think it will help put KG in a comfort zone - help him take some of the massive pressure off that he puts on himself. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I feel like KG is going to redeem himself tonight.

Mine I felt 100% after. If you'll notice in my comments the factor was if they said it was just a strain and getting better. If he is risking career ending damage then of COURSE you don't do that. That is obviously not what the reports are leading us to believe. If it takes an extra couple weeks to recover and doesn't do any long-term damage then shoot it up. Ask McHale and Parrish  and Bird about that. How many times did Parrish go to the bench after rolling an ankle, tighten the shoe until it almost cut off feeling in his foot, and go back out there in the championships. Perk has that same attitude...

Gasol will challenge Perk's left shoulder and arm by driving to the right, very eraly on.  Will Perk be able to stick his left arm high to block/challenge the shot? Also, will he be able to get both hands up high to grab the rebound? If yes, we are set. If not, expect his minutes to be very limited.

I think it was game 5 vs. Hawks (or was in game 7??) that Perk's energy was just amazing. Wouldn't an encore of that performance be sweet?

I think we are going to get the job done tonight, fellow fans.

PERK!!!!!!!!!

Ill make a rare post just because Perk is that much of a beast  >:(. I feel quite a bit better knowing he is playing, even if its 10-15 minutes of the 1st half he will destroy The Llama aka Pau Gasol.

The beast will come out with such insane energy and do to the Lakers WEAK post offense like he does to Queen James here.

Yes!!! C'mon Perk! All I need is even 6 minutes. I don't want KG picking up those fouls again.

I'm actually a fan of Perk, but I didn't think he was actually a big factor in this series.

GL PERK!
