On the edge of destiny, the Celtics had their team bus (well I know it’s not really a bus) delayed by engine problems and sat for a few hours on their way home from L.A.

While many have noted the normal fatigue factor involved in playing on the heels of a coast to coast travel day, amplified by losing 3-4 hours on the return trip, as an obstacle to overcome tonight, I see it as an occasion for the players to contemplate their situation and another opportunity to tighten their bonds, as only those of us who have been stranded in travel, along the route can understand.

What’s to say about Ray Allen’s thoughts as he flies home alone, after spending the off time visiting his son in the hospital?
Here is a report from Marc Spears in his today, Globe, column.

According to a team official, Allen was at the hospital all day yesterday with his son and was scheduled to fly home late last night or early today. According to the official, Allen's son went to the hospital for treatment prior to Game 5 Sunday night and has recovered well.

It’s been a long haul, this Ubuntu thing; right out of the gate in Rome, through the arduous season and now the record breaking 26 game playoff series.

In the words of Nelson Mandela:

Quote
A person with Ubuntu is open and available to others, affirming of others, does not feel threatened that others are able and good, for he or she has a proper self-assurance that comes from knowing that he or she belongs in a greater whole and is diminished when others are humiliated or diminished, when others are tortured or oppressed.

Tonight, we will try our own little brand of Ubuntu and join forces with the other show in town, Celtics Pride, for a celebratory post game edition that will reach not only our internet audience, spanning the globe, but the over the air radio crowd as well.
Justin and I will be in the ESPN studio with Patrick Gilroy and Jon will will be joining us by “VOIP” and maintaining full contact with the irrepressible members of the “pit.”

You may need to use the Celtics Pride phone number (866-377-6890) to call in and we probably won’t have our usual music, or the callers signature theme songs, or even Miracle Yohan’s great raps, but we know from this memorable season and the great history of Celtics teams past, that championships come from great sacrifices and we’re all willing to do our part.

We hope you will join us.

If you want to participate in the show you can call our toll free  number (1.866.751.9649/ or more likely: 1-866-377-6890), send us an e-mail to CSL@CelticsBlog.com, or  join us in the “Pit” (the chat) during the broadcast.
