I was kind of hoping Budinger would stay in the draft, because he's a guy who I think could really help.  No other major surprises, with the possible exception of the UNC guys opting out, and Bill Walker staying in.

Chase Budinger and TJ Lawson were surprising drop outs. That's bad news for the Celtics because no Budinger means it's less likely a talented wing falls to No.30 in the draft.

So I'm guessing Billy Walker probably got a promise from someone in the first round? Either that or his miniscus tear wasn't too big of a deal ofr teams.

Didn't Lawson just get arrested or something? I don't think his stock is at it's peak right now.

Do we know for sure it was a miniscus tear?  ESPN is reporting that there was no tear of the MCL or ACL, but doesn't mention the miniscus.

Supposedly his "advisor" is circulating the MRI results to teams, which tells me he does not have a promise yet.

Wow, what a team UNC will have next season. And Arizona.

Ty Lawson had an early promise from Denver, but after getting injured and the DUI charges, they said him they wouldn't be able to keep it.

Bill Walker probably has a promise from Detroit.

I'm finishing up my last year of grad school at UNC, and I'm thrilled at next year's team - everyone but Quentin Thomas is back, plus some new freshmen.  I figured Ellington would be back, probably Green too, but I was surprised Lawson didn't stay in.  They've gotta be the favorites for the title at this point.

Good news for my #1 college rooting interest too: Syracuse. Casual observers can't imagine how much Donte Greene hurt that team the last half of the Big East season.  He tried to be a caricature of Carmelo Anthony, but he was too soft to be willing to bang inside, so he mostly just camped around the 3 point line and jacked up shots.  He was also prone to turnovers and missed FTs at inopportune times, and wasn't clutch at all.  He's got the talent to be an All-Star caliber player someday, but the team will be better without him next season.

I think the in/out is a mixed bag.  The surprises are Budinger & Lawson out, but Serge Ibaka & Ryan Anderson in.  To me it means the Cs will have fewer wings to pick from but more bigs.  I fully expected Ryan Anderson to withdraw from the draft and play another year at Cal -- with DeVon Hardin gone, he would have benefited from the increased rebounds he would see.  My guess is that he has a promise from someone in the low 20s/high teens.  With Ibaka, there is a little buzz around him now, so I am guessing his agent decided it was time for the plunge.

Celtics fan for life.

Draft talk?  Today?

After years of Ricky Davis, Raef LaFrentz, Jiri Welsch, Acie Earl, Michael Smith, Ron Mercer and Rick Pitino, we are on the cusp of winning the championship.  I can't believe we have finally made it here.

Sorry but it's tough to debate the merits of dubious first rounders.

You are 100% correct and I cannot wait to see what next year will bring for them. And I will be in the stands for every game. I cannot believe he is projected to go so high, especially because of his lack of discipline and defensive skill. I think he may be a Gerald Green type of project, except maybe with a bit more skill. And you hit the nail on the head with his inside game.
