Well, I think the ones who were selling the tickets for a rediculous amount of money, were already paying a rediculous amount of money for the tickets, and were not poor.

I have a feeling that the balcony seats weren't going for $20k.

two things:

the passionate fans who are season ticket holders purchase the tickets with hopes of making it to the finals and witnessing a title.  so most wouldnt want to sell.

secondly, those who have courtside seats, most likely are extremely financially secure, where the amouth they could get wouldnt matter too much to them.

im a celts season ticket holder and i would never sell mine.  i have had plenty of opportunities this post season.  i understand it is different for boston fans, as it has been over 20 yrs since our last title, whereas the lakers have doen a few yrs ago.

No, I would not. But if someone did it for financial reasons, I'd understand.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I got season tickets with the hope of one day being in the situation we're been fortunate enough to be in this season.  The last month or so has been an incredible life experience.  I never considered for a second to sell 'em.  However, I can understand the temptation and the possible financial windfall gained.

It's just not for me, though.

I'd sell in a heartbeat.  Set the foundations for my (future) kids college fund, or watch a basketball game up close?  That's too easy.
