Host of NBC's Meet the Press, Tim Russert died today at the age of 58.

Tim was not only the greatest television journalist alive today, but he was a huge fan of the NBA - anyone who ever watched Meet the Press the weekend of the NBA all star game knows what I am talking about.

Tim was also a season ticket holder to BC football and basketball.

A huge loss.

Completely agree. A huge loss for all people that care about truth and honesty, especially with all the shenanigans we get nowadays in TV. He was a great journalist and person. He will be missed.

Tim Russert was my kind of guy... doggedly-determined in his professional life, but obviously a kind-hearted man. and the relationship with and reverence for his  Dad struck a big cord with me...

prayers to his family. just a big loss for the field of journalism and our country.....

Tremendous loss for journalism in this era of partisan entertainment masquerading as journalism. A brilliant interviewer, and as knowledgeable a political historian as you could find.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Watching the news this evening I was struck by the bredth of heartfelt agony people are feeling about this loss.

On commentator had a comment that I thought was powerful in its simplicity, he said that at Russerts funeral will have sanatation workers standing shoulder to shoulder with Presidents.

A man of all people will be missed by all people.
