“Well, this team is -- if you watch them, if you've paid attention to them all year, usually the first half is team ball, second half is usually Kobe takes over the games,” Kevin Garnett said. “It just looks like they wanted to get the ball to Kobe and him sort of finish it off. That's what it looked like to me. It didn't really look cohesive like they did in the first half.”

Sounds pretty much right to me.  Way to go, Kobe-ster.  You really put your team on your back.

Why is everyone in the national media calling Kobe the greatest closer in the game today?  Kobe is not a great closers, a great closers doesn't allow his team to give up a hugh lead and lost the game. A great closer doesn't get 17 points and a great close doesn't point the finger at anyone but himself.  Kobe is a great talent but he is not a great closer.  All those experts wanted to crown the Lakers champs and crown Kobe as the greatest ever now it time to give the Celtics there due because come Sunday they will be crown champions

The Lakers #1 problem isn't Kobe, it's KG.  The Lakers can't score in the paint and they were consistently limited to one shot per possession when the game was on the line.

KG is going all Zen Master on us, playing mind games with LA. They will all be thinking about Kobe's selfishness next game. Go KG!

from Bill Simmons:

Quote
"It has been hysterical to watch the city of Los Angeles rush to Kobe's defense by ripping Schilling, as evidenced by [Simers'] column," wrote somebody-or-other, "instead of coming to grips with the fact the last five months of hunky-dory, 'Good Ship Lollipop' Lakers stories was Hollywood's biggest (bogus) story of the year. . . . Kobe is a wonderful basketball player. We all concede this point. Just don't keep trying to sell us on the fact he's a good teammate."

 ;D
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson

KG was just answering a question. He could care less about LA. His total focus is on what the Celtics do. It's been that way from the start it's about us. If we play our game the right way and with intensity and energy it doesn't matter who the other team is or what the other team does. Ubuntu!
