Okay, I know some of you guys must be superstitious.  What did you do at halftime to switch up the team's luck?

Me, I quit posting on Celticsblog for the half.  In Game 1, when we were losing at halftime, I had done the same thing, so I figured it was worth a shot.  And look, it worked!  I'm sure many of you have similar stories, so go ahead and share.

I stopped watching.  Every away game in the playoffs I've missed, they've won (ie all three of them now).  I figured it was worth a shot.

I took my shirt off right before the third quarter run.

Thanks to my wife for turning the AC down.

I also take credit for all the 'Karma' I created before the game with the TP's I gave to every post.

I wore my lucky green shirt...I don't like to wear team stuff when i watch a game at home, so I've worn a green shirt for most of our playoff games - I started with the big games and realized we kept winning em.

So far the shirt is 9-1 with the only loss being last game...you better believe it's not getting washed this week either...

I popped in a Dvd of the 1984 series.

Did not turn the game back on for good until late in the fourth quarter.

Major Tivo pause - long heartfelt conversation with wife in bed. - getting  very sleepy (it's an hour later here) - Should I go to sleep? -  Nope - get out of bed. Go back and watch your team like a man

Consistantly posted positive thoughts in the game thread here trying to counteract the negitivity being posted...

You MUST BELIEVE, for it to be so and NEVER give up...

//But I do understand folks inclination to vent, so i just try to let that happen following the rules here and not call them out, in their depressed dismay; I understand it ;)

I never gave up. Also brought my new good luck charm to the game thread!!!

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

In the first half, I watched the game from the couch. After that I switched to my computer chair, and would not look at the t.v - would just do stuff on the computer, and listen to it instead. A little wierd, but I felt it worked. I finally decided to look with a minute left though.  :)

  • The good ole days.
I told them to "keep whittling" the lead, and didn't turn off the game when I so desperately wanted to, and wore my Celtics 5 KG jersey shirt to a post work social event when everyone else was wearing company shirts.

kept watching but put the TV on mute, started posting on celticsblog more than normal during game time (nothing like fellow celtics fans to help with the hard times -- thanks guys!)

I was drinking Coors for the first half, but then I realized that's what I had been drinking during Game 3.  So at halftime I got out a Celtics glass, poured some whiskey and the rest is NBA history.

Wasn't easy after that start though ::)

There was a tornado near where I lived tonight. That was a signal from Red Auerbach to go to Larry Bud's tavern cross town. The game was preempted so I went out to look for the tornado. Couldn't see it but it was raining like a son of a ****. The sky was Celtics green so I figured I had to get to Larry Buds. Then I demanded they put the game on in the green back room. At that point it was 45-21 Fakers. And the Celtics scored the next 10 points. We were down 18 at the half but I figured we had come back in Philly a couple of times in do or die Game 6's so I felt the Celtics had a chance. And then they came back and I put the whammy on Gasol, the tennis player whose last name began with V, and of course Kobe. And then Ray Allen drove the lane and layed it up and in. I need one more effective game plan to win this mother.
