At this moment you stand One hour and thirty six minutes away from achieving what you've worked for your entire life; an NBA championship.
Tonight is the first 48 minutes of that hour and thirty six minutes. I'm asking you to give me 48 minutes of the greatest focus and energy you've ever committed to on a basketball court.
When you get knocked down, you will get back up.
When you make a mistake, you will think about the next possibility.
And when you feel tired, that will be the signal that you haven't yet worked hard enough to earn an NBA championship.
Let not one obstacle stand between you the championhsip. Not one obstacle.
I'm not asking you to do it for me; I'm asking you to do it for yourself so you can achieve what you've been working for all your life. It's the reason you're here today, in this room, in this arena, with these teammates.
Now, when the bell tolls and we walk out of this locker room, you are going to meet twelve other players from the other team and 18,000 of their fans who do not want you to have an NBA championship. They are going to do everything they possibly can to take away from you what it is that you want the most.
They can't have it!
Another thing: I want you to be thankful when you see the other twelve players and their fans today. I want you to wish that you were playing nowhere else except right here and right now.
Because these other twelve players and their fans are providing you the opportunity that you have been waiting for your entire life; and NBA championship.
Now, walk out of this locker room, down that tunnel and onto that floor and remember one thing and one thing only; when you reach in there and rip the championship out of their collective hearts one game at a time, remember to be thankful they let you into their house to take it! They've presented you with the opportunity, it's up to you to go take it!
