Lakers lazy reach in fouls killed them in Game One

They're in the penalty already in the first quarter. 5 personal fouls on LA, every single one of them was unneccessary and dumb.

Make that 6 fouls on that offensive foul by Kobe. Another unneccessary foul. Harsh call too by the refs.

Unlike the announcers, my rule book says if you hit a defender in the face its an offensive foul.

Bob Delaney is really not making any friends out there, from either side.

"This is the NBA Finals the players need to be on the floor." JVG

Well then don't elbow your defender in the chest when you're getting the ball.  There's one way to stay on the floor.

The three announcers are giving Pierce love for what he did in Game 1 though, that is refreshing from a national standpoint.

Celts needs to crash the boards, Lakers seem to be focusing on being aggressive and boxing out a heck of a lot more than Thursday night.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

Just me or are they calling a lot of ticky tack stuff out there? Perk on Gasol's drive and both those 2 on Mambo-- nothing like like what Rip was getting away with. Not to mention they are stiffling the game pace (it's all about them)

Mike Breen only feels compelled to editorialize about calls when they go in the Celtics' favor. This goes back to the Detroit series. What a dink.

OK let's step on their throats when Kobe's out. We seem to be playing down to the level of competition here.

And Rondo hasn't looked at the hoop once.  >:(

Ah, a refreshing breath of Powe.

Is it me or is this game screaming Eddie House's name right now.  Rondo's been invincible on both ends, Celts need an offensive spark, let see it Doc.

I think Rondo is confused. I believe he thinks he's in games 2 of the Hot Potato championship.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I love you, Rondo, but if you`re open, SHOOT THE DANG BALL!
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

The 3 by Farmar clinched my unhappy feeling about that first quarter.  Can't give up a 3 like that to end a quarter.  The Lakers seem more physical and I don't know...I can't really put my finger on it, I just didn't like the overall feeling of that first quarter.

And with the refs being whistle happy in that first quarter, calling every little push...no one here better be surprised when it screws us eventually in this game.

Lakers getting the treatment from the refs right now

Lot of pressure on Gasol. He's going to have to lead this second unit and play the first 16-18 minutes of the game while Odom and Bryant bide their time before coming back in. Lakers second unit need to keep them in the game.

As for the Celtics, they should be looking at the next 5 minutes to get some seperation. Build a small lead right here.
