Pierce was great, but this game was won by the power of the team.

ESPN requires a one on one nemesis for kobe, and pierce just nominated himself.

thats all that headline comes down to, retarded marketing. heaven forbid we just talk about the game, we need to create soap opera type stories.

I think it's a reference to tonight being Game One as well.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

I thought maybe they had one "expert" who was picking the Celts in the series...

Come on guys. How many times have we seen KG on espn.com's front page, focused on w/ magazine covers, and been given all the credit for the C's turnaround.

It's not the worst thing for Paul to get a little attention for a change. Plus (besides KG), Pierce is probably the least likely Celtics to let this kind of stuff effect Ubuntu.

Yup ... the team won this one, as a "team" always wins. Technically, it always takes five, no matter how good any one player's performance, if you want to be literal. But sometimes a player steps-up, carries the team, sets the standard, and takes over a game ... and that's exactly what Pierce did tonight ... on both ends of the floor!

Yeah, that's how I took it too.  I don't think they were saying that Pierce did it by himself, that probably would have been "Power of 34."

Yep, the Celtics had nothing to do with winning the game, the clippers coulda won this won, heck a WNBA team would have tore the Lakers up... this is the Finals, the Celtics are in control of their own destiny, they won the game because they played better. Simple simple stuff

  • Hinrich sucks, Deng sucks, Bulls suck, I'm out.
I think they're talking about my favorite book of all time.

that was my initial take.

ESPN requires a one on one nemesis for kobe, and pierce just nominated himself.

that deserves a tp - great observation.
