I thought I'd post a new off topic thread where we can all discuss the songs that burrow into our skulls and will not leave unless we force ourselves to sing the Flinstones theme (which of course is now left burrowing and needs to be replaced and replaced...etc.)

I'll start with currently "wanted dead or alive" is spiraling and stuck in my head

I've had 'Listen to your Heart' by Roxette stuck in my head all week. What's with Swedish bands coming up with annoyingly great songs (e.g., ABBA's 'Dancing Queen' or Ace of Base's 'The Sign')

I'm doing a science conference for teachers this week and there is a lady named Rosanna in there. Everytime I see her I think of "Rosanna" by Toto. Can't get it out of my head now!!!

If you watch this video, it will probably be in your head too. ;D

unless we force ourselves to sing the Flinstones theme

Anytime my girl complains of a song stuck in her head, I immediately proffer the guitar riff to 'Aqualung' ("dah dah-dah dah dah dah").

Works like a charm, although she's recently taken to punching me in the arm when I do it. Not sure why.

I can see that song working, and I can see why you are subsequently benched

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
Love Fool, by the Cardigans.

Also, the Breakfast Machine song from Pee Wee's Big Adventure basically plays in my head 24 hours a day.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

"Gotta Have a Mustache" sung by Bill Barwick, although, being a female, I sure don't want a mustache, ;D

I once spent the better part of the day touring around Washington DC with the song Funky Cold Medina stuck in my head and I couldn't for the life of me remember the artists name.  I could picture his face.  Knew he was in Ace Ventura, but could not come up with Tone Loc.  It was horrible.

Now I mostly have children's shows theme songs stuck in my head.

It was a sad day when I caught myself singing the "Barbie Mariposa Butterfly Princess" theme song in my car.
Yup

My heart goes oput to yoU!  That song is like an anxiety attack!  And then when it settles all nice and quiet like and BAM!  Right back to the terror!  Oh my, I had a good laugh over the fact that you called it the Breakfast Machine song, too.  TP.

Also, and this is not shameless self promotion, but I just finished recording a song called BEAT L.A. and I can't get it out of my head, which is  not unusual for having just worked on a song for a good length of time.  I'm about to make a multimedia post about it, but it's posted up at myspace.com/miraclejohan

i have a 16 month old at home, and she loves to watch a show called Bunnytown on Playhouse Disney. I actually like it, the show is made by some people who used to work on the Muppets, so it is a pretty funny show.

however, there are a few songs they sing, and I can honestly say they are in my head, and my wife's head non-stop.

Let's go everyone, we're gonna go down to a cooky little placed called....BUNNYTOWN!

I could do the rest, but you get the point.
