Of the 8 ESPN "experts" not 1 picked the Celtics to win the series.

2 picked them to lose in 5!! ???

Unbelievable!!

Who cares what they think.

Most of those jokers picked the Pistons to win in 6.

  • Hinrich sucks, Deng sucks, Bulls suck, I'm out.
I prefer that. We're the favorites all year and suddenly we're the underdogs, I love it.

The west was more balanced this year...but I still believe the 2 best teams in the NBA were in the EAST.

Our Celts need to win this just to shut up some of the West Hype.

I guess the Fakers are favored simply b/c they are from the west.

It's annoying isn't it. Not one of them as the coconuts to pick the underdog. I'm calling dan patrick on monday and I'm going to ask him if he has anymore excuses for detroit. Hypocritical because they will be the first to say play through the ref and injuries unless it comes down to who they pick. It's frustrating because it doesn't seem that they have any idea about great this team can play. The atlanta series is the  only thing they have now to give them any sort of backing to their claim.

I know it doesn't realy matter much what they say, but it would be nice to hear at least one of them saying something good for once. >:(

HTe west was overrated if you ask me. If the east is weak and thats how they account for our record, the same thing can be said about the west. They do play anumber of games agains the east don't they. I know its not as many but still.

I figured just as much. Most of them picked the Pistons in 6, and look how that turned out!

I don't expect them to be right for this one either.  :)

LOL!  Of course the Celtics won't win, after all, they can't win on the road and they collapse in the 4th quarter  :-\

Seriously, though, I like that the Celtics are the underdogs..... makes me happy.
Celtics fan for life.

I don't understand how winning 66 games and dominating the league for the entire season still qualifies us as the underdogs.

Are there any C-blog members who think the Lakers *should be* the favorites (besides myself of course)? What's wrong with being a fan and thinking the other team will win? Maybe our definitions of 'fan' are different. I consider a fan anybody who follows the team very closely AND wants his team to win. Is a fan actually that as well as someone who believes his team will win? (and then get a miserable dose of reality when they lose   ;) )

The C's swept the Lakers handily this season.  They also did pretty good against the Spurs.  The have faced more adversity and become playoff hardend to this point.  The only diference in the Lakers now is the swap of Bynum for Gasol.  Now do you really think KG defending Gasol as opposed to Bynum will make that much of a difference for the Lakers.

ESPN is a bunch of glory hounds who know little of basketball and jump on the trend as opposed to looking at the course of the year.

Don't you love how the team with the best record, and home court suddenly become the underdogs.

Make them ear CROW!!!!!!!!!

Hey the lakers can be favored so what..i think we match up really well against the Lakers...i also thought we matched up well against the pistons..

The 2 worst match ups were the Hawks and Cavs..Due to the Hawks athleticsm and the Cavs size inside..

Lets take a look

Kobe/ Pierce edge lakerrs but not by a huge margin

Odom/KG edge KG offensively and defensively

Gasol/ Perk Offensively Gasol wins..but Defensively and on the boards perk can dominate a soft player

fischer/ Rondo..Fisher is a vet.. But Rondo can beat him off the dribble and D him up..

Allen ? / Walton/Pavlovich If Ray has any legs left we win this match up

benches Posey, House, Cassel,Leon , Davis, PJ

Walton, Pavlovich, Turiaf, Farmar  wash to edge Celtics
See, this is why I'm not allowed to announce NBA games -- I'd be talking in the Cookie Monster voice right now:

Ahhhhhhhhhh ... my knee hurts ... ahhhhhhhhhhhhh ... me don't like when my knee hurts ...
