Hey guys,

Obviously I am just registering for this series.  I am a Lakers fan and have been for quite some time.  Just a warning, you will probably get alot of Laker homers that are going to talk so much garbage... please ignore them and know that they do not represent what all Laker fans are like.

I just signed up here to talk while this series is going on.  First and foremost, I want to wish you guys a great deal of luck.  This series is going to be great for the NBA and for us fans.  Even though I really want the Lakers to take this, I honestly would not be that disappointed if the Celtics took this, as I feel that KG really deserves a ring.  The man has been through so much and like I said, deserves it more than anyone in the NBA.

With that said, Lakers in 6 (I hope).  This is to a great series.

With the "Lakers in 6" nonsense excepted ( ;D), right back at ya.  We've had a few opposing fans come aboard throughout the playoffs, and by and large, it's been a pleasure to have them around for some informed albeit opposing perspectives.  Looking forward to chatting with you over the course of what should be a heckuva series.

For now, both sides have six days to take in the joy of being here...let's all make the most of that!  Good luck, Steez.

Whatever happens, it's going to be a lot of fun, and a rivalry renewed! You're a brave person, coming into the "enemy's camp", so I'll be respectful for your courage, and for the fair words you put forth, (TP).

You'll most likely get some not-so-nice comments following mine, but don't think we're all bad either, just very hungry, very hard-core, and very dedicated to our boys in green. It's been a bit longer for us, you have to understand, so just regard any negativity sent your way as being "over-zealous" ... and blind love for our beloved Celtics.

It's nothing personal, but you are the enemy, afterall. All the best to you despite the gulf between us, (literally and figuratively), and I hope you're enjoying this as much as we are. I also hope you'll come back and chat after it's all over ... it would be interesting to get your views of the battle, though I'm sure your disappointment over the loss will be taking it's toll.

Anyway ... here's to the War ... may the warriors be true of heart, and diligent of effort. We do consider you a "Worthy" opponent, but it's a shame you don't have a little "Magic" to help you! (I'll stop with the puns ... I'm sure you've had your "Phil").

I have to admit, Steve, they were really bad, lol! (Forgive me, Bud!) It's got to be the mood I'm in, but my mind is constantly trying to prove to the world how shamelessly simple I am.

I once had a girlfriend, (my first love, actually), who's parents threw me out of their house for making puns ... it was my first dinner there, and not the best of first-impressions. They considered puns as the absolute ultimate proof of idiocy, and it was months before they invited me back for dinner, lol!

As I recall, my girlfriend passed the basket of rolls to me and asked: "Wanna roll?" ... and I cleverly, (so I thought), replied: "Right here?" Can't imagine why they weren't impressed with me after that! Ah ... such is youth!

As for other teams fans being on here, I like it, especially when they are logical and fans of the game, not just blind loyalists. For any trolls looking to come on, I can guarantee you this, the mods here will have you off in the blink of an eye. I have never been to a forum, more on the ball when it comes to trolls than this one we are on.

Celtics in 6, defense wins championships. I actually like Kobe, especially once everyone else started hating him, I always root for the bad guys in movies, but the C's have so many weapons.

ok, enough with the apologies. You ARE the enemy and aside from our mutual respect for exciting and passionate basketball, the assuredly classic matchup, and the rebirth of NBA excitement, we're going to win, and it will be better for America. Let's review:

1. Kobe is the best player (skills) in the NBA. He is an accused rapist and a black-hole of charisma. His occasional selfishness has cost your team at least two championships, and makes him exceptionally hard to root for.

2. Lamar Odom can't hang with KG. You know this, we know this. For the eleven threes which Lamar will bag during this series, KG will own him in the post every game, and when necessary, Posey will shut him down on the boards and the perimeter.

3. Gasol is soft, and he's not even actually your boy. C'mon, you don't even love Gasol. Face it, he's foreign, gimpy, soft and even though he may be well suited to the triangle, you know he ain't clutch.

4. Derek Fisher rocks. I'll give you this. He knows his role, and I think he is a critical, if not THE critical leader on this team.

5. Ronny Turiaf is no Perkins. They share a lot in common in style, but Perk is twice the talent Turiaf is.

6. Flaky white guys. Vujacic? Air Radmanovic? You're hoping they out-shoot Jesus, Cassel, Posey and House? Hmmmm... I like the Green there.

7. Wild Cards: You got Farmar, We've got Rondo. You've got Walton, we've got PJ, each equally capable of disappearing.

So I ask, where is your edge? Kobe is THAT much better? His selfish decisions have cost your team time and time again. His ego is already being massaged by the media (smug Sunday conversation, fake altruism and modesty), ugh, just disgusting. We'll wait and see, but I think you should come to the light side, leave your scummy remains and root for the good guys.

We also have Paul Pierce, who traditionally owns the Lake Show, particularly in LA. Check it.

I forgot to add what a blessing-in-disguise it ended up being, as it was the first time my girlfriend had made supper, and it was a rather failed experiment with calamari, (squid). I ended up being asked to leave before the main course, and so (thankfully) never had to eat the calamari! (This story is completely true)

I love it deep-fried, but this was some bad experiment with tomato puree and garlic, and while it smelled wonderful, it seemed to still be moving a bit on the platter, and my girlfriend later told me that the rest of her family refused to finish it.

So this isn't considered totally off-subject, I hear calamari is very popular on the West Coast, (how's that for a save?)

"From inside the jousters' tent, the sound of the armourers accomplishing the knights ... busy hammers closing rivets up, give dreadful note ... of preparation!"

Bahku, you know I love ya and I'm delirious with joy about this Finals appearance at ten to four in the morning...so somehow your Laker name puns above earned you a TP from me instead of a string of angry emoticons...well, just messing with ya about the emoticons...what a night!   ;D

"Sorry, Bahku, Steve can't repeat a karma action within 1 hours."  Raincheck for ya.  That was worth a laugh  ;D

Not a calamari guy, Bahku?  I love that stuff...

Good save indeed, sir.  And most of my affinity for calamari comes fried as well, so you're off the hook on that one, too, heh.
