We accomplished alot this regular season.

We learned alot in the playoffs.

Rays back. We can win on the road. We can put teams away.

THERE'S ONLY ONE MORE GOAL LEFT. ALL FORCES GO!

GO CELTICS! BEAT LA!

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
I've been a Celtics fan since when Antoine came into the league (I'm 21 now), so I wasn't alive for the earlier chapter of the rivalry. If anyone knows any good videos about the rivalry please post them. If any of our older posters could give me some stories about when they were living through the rivalry. I want to understand it more than I do if anyone could help me out that would be great.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Evantime,

I recommend watching the Celtics 6 disk DVD history. They have complete games (including Game 4, 1984 finals).  I'm only 23, so I also don't remember these games, but in the dark years (aka Pitino), these types of documentaries were what I'd watch as I wished for this day to come.

BEAT LA BABY.

When did the Lakers start including their Minneapolis championships?  I remember when they played at the Forum and the only banners on the wall were from their LA days.  There were six up in the 1990's.  Once they moved to Staples in 2000 and got their three-peat (after a 12 year drought) they added a banner with the five Minneapolis titles.  As far as I'm concerned the Minneapolis Lakers no longer exist.  The LA Lakers have 9 championships, not 14.

Did anyone else watch Greg Anthony's series preview on espn.com's series page?  Do I want to see this or is it just a nauseating Kobe/Lakers love fest?

I cannot stand pretentious Lakers fans.  They're worse than NYY sycophants and deserve scorn at all times.  Yes, this series will probably be a long, grueling one, but I am holding out hope that the Celtics just embarrass the heck out of LA.  I want to taste the Lakers fans' tears of unfathomable sadness.

I'm 23 years old.  The wars in the 80s were before my time but, my grandfather used to tell riveting stories about the rivalry in the 60s and 80s.  He'd get a huge kick out of this.  I wish he was still around for it.  We have one hell of a tall order ahead of us.  They have a hall of fame coach and the best player in the world, maybe ever.  I think there's something to be said for the Celtics fans of my generation.  Not only have we put up with lousy basketball but we get to hear from our grandfathers about Red, Russell, and Cousy, and from our fathers and uncles about Bird, Parish, and McHale.  When ABC goes live Thursday night, and the new garden is rocking with chants of "BEAT LA" you can be sure I'll have goosebumps.

BEAT LA!!!
