Isn't there a way to get Pruitt, Baby, and the draft picks on summer rosters anyway?

I care....I understand it, and even think it is the right decision.  However, I am still disappointed...went last year and had a ball and was planning to go back this year.   Would like to see Pruit playing in it though.

I blame Cassell for this too! ;)

Convo before signing Cassell:

Ainge: I'd like to sign another guard, Wyc
Wyc: What's wrong with House?
Ainge: He's fine, but we need pg insurance in case of an injury
Wyc: I don't know. I'm already paying the luxury tax you know?
Ainge: How about we cover Sam's cost by not having a Summer League team?
Wyc: Well, I guess that's fine. Just let Doc know that Sam is only for    insurance purposes only. I don't want him messing up our on court chemistry.
Ainge: No worries. Doc's a great coach.

Nicely done!

I will miss seeing the young players in summer league, but agree with a poster above that the only summer league I really care about as far as the Cs go is NBA finals in june...
Celtics fan for life.

No, unless these players are waived (or renounced in the case of draft picks).

I care.

By sheer coincidence I am actually going to be in Las Vegas (a place I never go) during the Vegas Summer League this year.   I was excited about the prospect of watching some young C's play and perhaps hobnobbing with Danny and Wic.

I am disappointed.

Danny might still be there.  Even without a team, its a good chance to scout other players.

wow. that's awful. Maybe the team can pay for them to go to some player camp thing like John Lucas' camp

Gerald Green saw his career implode last year in Summer League.

He was supposed to dominate but threw up a wall up bricks.

Summer League fun to see the rookies so long as Ainge does not fall in love with another Brandon Wallace and sign him to a 2 year contract.

Be fun seeing Big Baby get some playing time and dominate Oden again :)

I'm a little bummed just because I'll be attending.  I was anticipating a steady diet of big baby!

The summer league would have been a great way to see how our draft picks stack up. I was also looking forward to seeing if Pruitt improved as a pg at all. Not sure if a mini camp is going to work as well in terms of acessing players.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

We don't need the summer league. None of the players will make our roster anyway and we're holding a free agent & player development camp in early July. Big Baby, Gabe Pruitt, JR Giddens, Bill Walker, Leon Powe and I'm assuming Rondo will all be there.

I'm sure there will be pictures, videos and interviews during it to hold us off. We shouldn't be worrying about our young players right now. The concern is Posey returning.

I care.  I'll be in Vegas checking out the Summer League, and was looking forward to seeing the Celtic young guys.  Last year I got to see up close just how ridiculous large the Infant is, and it would have been nice to see Giddens dunk on someone from courtside.  Oh well.  In the big scheme of things it's no biggie.
