The lottery will officially be announced on Tuesday before Game 1 of the Detroit series - who would you most like to see win and why?

Also, what were you doing last year at lottery time, and what was your reaction?  I was watching in my summer apartment, and as soon as Milwaukee's name was pulled 6th (guaranteeing us 5th) my stomach dropped, I stomped out of the room, and despaired that the C's would never be good again.  What a difference a year makes, huh?

On the one hand, I'd like to see Minny win and improve, on the other I love the deals they had on tickets this year. Good lower level seats for $35-$50.

Either Miami, Minny or New York, (in that order of preference).

I guess I'll say Minnesota; I'd like to see Big Al get a running mate.

The worse the Knicks do, the happier I'll be.

I could do without the Tankfest '08 Heat getting rewarded too highly either.

The idea of the Sonics getting a PG like Rose to play with Durant or boasting a 2-3-4 of Durant-Green-Beasley for the next decade and a half sounds quite intriguing to me.  So does the idea of them playing home games in Seattle though, and that doesn't appear to be turning out so well  >:(

And even though it's nearly impossible, I'll throw my true hope out on the table, too - one of my favorite teams to watch out West failed to make the playoffs because 48 wins wasn't good enough.  Adding Michael Beasley to the Nellieball Warriors sounds like a whole lot of fun to me.

Imagine Derek Rose with Oden, Aldridge, and Roy in Portland?  Portland has one of the few owners who would probably pay to keep that team together, too.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
Minnesota...$1 season tickets if they win it!
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

  • The good ole days.
As a diehard Wolves fan, you may think I'd say Minnesota.  However, that is not the case.  I want any team that will take Michael Beasley 1st overall to get that wish, and for the Wolves to get #2.  I want Rose to fall in their lap with no discussion.... if they get #1, it would force McHale to make an educated decision, something I have negative faith in.

TPs Roy and Dark Lord.  Great points both of you.

As I said to someone this evening, "Remember, draft lottery and game Tuesday night.  We'll be participating in the game rather than the lottery, and that feels hella good, don't it?"

Go green  ;D

I picked Minnesota, though I agree with your reasoning - but do you really think McHale would take Beasley first with Al already on the team?  If you consider Amare a vet I think Al has to be considered hands down the most promising young PF in the league, and more importantly he's the big piece from the KG trade.  I think McHale would either trade the pick (unlikely) or take Rose; at this point it's considered enough of a 50/50, and Minny's needs are so clear-cut that I think the right pick would be a gimme.

Teams I don't want to see win it:

Miami (tanking)
New Jersey (too many hard feelings from a few years back)
Oklahoma City (if that's where they are; no reward for backstabbing a longtime NBA city)
New York (sucks)

It's Tuesday, right?  The first post says Monday.

Anyways... I'm kinda rooting for Seattle to get he top pick, honestly.  I live in Seattle and I know it's going to be horrible to see them leave, but I'm kinda hoping for a miracle of some sort.  Maybe if the Sonics got Rose to pair with Durant and judging by the way Durant played towards the end of the year... maybe they could actually set this city on fire and all hell will break lose forcing some kind of miracle situation where the team stays.

It is nice worrying about the playoffs for once instead of hoping we land a top pick!  I hope Minny or Seattle wins it.  Like the LarBrd33 said maybe if they can get Rose or something some sort of luck will happen and the team can remain in Seattle.
