Point is, we had a chance to win in their building and it took the refs to not have us moving on right now.
Enough with the refs. They didn't cost us the game. They cost us a chance to get back into the game. There's a difference.
We were still behind, and that had very little to do with the officiating. We mounted a comeback and had momentum, and then the refs repeatedly screwed us down the stretch, but it was the team's poor play that had them in a hole to start with.
You don't think the refs have an effect of the way the C's play?
It's not just a physical implication of a call or not....it's psychological and emotional as well.
It's no shock the C's are terrible on the road where they don't get close to fair calls.
76 points in game one. That was a home game.
89 points in game two. That was a home game.
96 points in game five. That was a home game.
It's not all about the road, clearly. Was it all the officials' fault that Atlanta took this squad to 7 games, too? Boston is a flawed team with a terrible coach. Nobody should be surprised that this is getting exposed in the playoffs:
Perkins, the slowest big man, is doubling James up top (Coaching issue)
The weakness at backup point is being exposed (GM issue)
Rondo's weak jumper is being exposed and exploited (player/coach issue)
Garnett's disdain for the low post is hurting the team (player issue)
Ray Allen isn't good enough to beat a double team (player/coach issue)
Pierce is being asked to do to much and is failing (player/coach issue)
Davis got 17 minutes last night (coaching issue)
We just have to hope that home cooking can help overcome some of these weaknesses so the team can advance.
edit: I forgot to mention the absence of a real low post game. That would be a (player/coach/GM issue)
