  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
You have to like Wyc's proactive approach here. The whole article is really interesting/funny but I can't beleive that Stern allowed the Celtics to wear whites tonight. That's going to get some negative press indeed.

My favorite part

Quote
Wyc is even trying to get the Cavaliers to allow a "Heroes Among Us" presentation during an early timeout. Wyc and Pags will fire Celtics T-shirts into the crowd when Boston is in its huddle.

Talk about Cuban-esque! This type of hands on "do my part and I don't mean just sign checks" approach to owning a basketball club is awesome.

You gotta be kidding me. I wish they would just shape up and play.

  • The good ole days.

The Celtics will be transported to the arena on a Duck Boat. The tour guide will tell them that Lake Erie is the Charles River. They'll be told Cleveland's historic Key Tower is actually the Custom House Tower. Jacobs Field? That's Fenway Park. Janet Marie Smith has really made the place over, no?

Does anyone else think some of the Celtics will be borderline insulted by this?

This seems ill-conceived to me.  Doesn't this plan, more than anything else, reinforce the "you suck on the road" vibe?

Wait.... you all are kidding, right?  This article was obviously tongue-in-cheek.  Bunch of crap by Dan Shaughnessy.

Exactly why I posed the question of the players being insulted.  They are mostly mature veterans.  They know what they have to do and by now should know why they've been unable to do it on the road.  A Boston Globe at their doorstep won't make the hotel their home and wearing white jerseys won't make the crowd turn in their favor.

I actually am starting to have serious concerns that these tactics, if in fact true, could do more harm than good.  They might act as a distraction in a game where focus is going to be paramount.

Haha.  That's what I get for reading a blurb, instead of the original article.

Lil' Phunk will be there in Cleveland as Lil' Rock and the Celtics dancers have all gained weight and had teeth removed to represent the Cleveland population to cheer for the Cavs.

Perhaps our veterans will be insulted enough to play impenetrable team defense and find open shots.  Just to show us they don't need hack psychologists fiddling around with their psyches and egos.  And ids.
