I fear that for New Orleans the magic has run out, I think the Spurs will win in six. The Hornets are the one team left in the playoffs, that I see the Celtics not having a tough time with.
Detroit is the team I think the Celtics would have an easiest time with and by a very big margin.
Really? I'm surprised, there's so much experience on that team and a lot of balanced players that play well in big games. Is it the lack of a true star?
Yes that's (lack of a star) a big factor. Another is that by and large I think we match up very well with them. Another is that I think they're weak and there for the taking, they've been weak for three years now.
All four teams in the West are championship caliber teams. I don't think Detroit are. I don't think they can win, that's the bottom line.
The star factor as we all know can be an issue. I see a lot of equality though in the matchups, Rondo penetration vs. Billups shooting, Ray and Rip is a wash, Prince very good defense vs. Pierce elite offense and good defense, Rasheed can't guard KG, but you can't leave Wallace open behind the 3 point line. I am not sure what to think of the Pistons, I wonder how they would fare against this years Cavs?
I think Detroit would handle them. They'd be good battles but I think they'd be comfortable enough come the end of the game like against Orlando.
Antonio McDyess is a huge difference from last year. Chris Webber's mobility and inability to defend any of their bigs (especially Z) killed the Pistons.
So too did Larry Hughes' great defense on Chauncey Billups. Billups has an easy matchup with West. Cavs will be forced to put Bron on Billups, then Rip or Tayshaun has West in the post. This Cleveland team's perimeter defense was fantastic before the trade and the biggest reason after LeBron that allowed them to win the East ... and they don't have it anymore. Good team D but not the stoppers of last season.
