That game was won and lost last night at the free throw line.  Both the differential in free throw attempts and the horrible percentage the Celtics put up.  The numbers speak for themselves.  They are FREE Throws!!!!!

                 BOS         vs.       ATL
FTS   10-18 (.556)         29-33 (.879)
Final         92                         97

Simply embarassing.

The Hawks are being more aggressive than the Celtics. That's why they're getting more FTs. They're taking it to the rim and going hard.

It's giving them a big advantage and Boston are matching them. There were a bunch of plays where Ray Allen went to the hoop and passed up layups because of the slightest contest on his shot. He was intimidated. So were a few others.

Agreed.  You're not going to get to the line much when you're resorting to firing up jumpers and three pointers like in much of the 4th quarter.  Gotta attack the rim and draw contact.  That'll get you to the line.  Once you get there though, you have to shoot a helluva lot better than 55%.

You are 100% correct- free throws!!! Even our better free throw shooters were missing. The other problem- Rondo getting his easy layups blocked. He needs to either get his shot off the glass quicker (like he did at the end for a goal tend) or find a few different moves on the way to the bucket (mix up the floater with an up and under). He needs to go up and under and use the rim for protection.

The Hawkes are bringing it strong to the rack.If you are going to get a foul, make it a good one.As Barkley once stated,"make them think twice before they bring it strong again".Perkins,Garnett, needs to give some hard fouls when they come  crashing to the boards. If they are going to get a foul, make it one to remember.
