...they didn't get discouraged and continued to play hard. Any time you're playing in front of your home crowd you have a chance especially if you have a legit star who is willing to take on the responsibility for the team. JJ played phenomenally in the 4th and took over the game....and yeah it's much easier to do when you're at home.

C's aren't used to losing and it's important to see how they respond. They came out strong at the start of the game but early leads don't mean much especially on the road. A foul here and a foul there can change the momentum of any game in a blink of an eye.

The C's need to be a bit more physical on the defensive end and they can not let perimeter players get into the paint so easily. And sometimes you have to let your stars play a bit more selfishly because they're so good and can get on a roll.

Come on, why do they deserve credit for playing hard in the playoffs? They didn't do anything particularly well other than playing street ball and geting lucky on gambles which happened to pay off. Add on Doc's bench management, missed layups, taking the ball WEAK to the hole and a terrible but loud crowd and the Hawks came away with another one. The studio's giving them credit, so are the announcers, it's rediculous. They should bundle up all of that credit and turn it into blame to shove onto Doc's lap for not taking control of his squad.

Tommy put it best, the Celtics 8 are so much better then the Hawks 8.

Are they playing their best, yep.

Should it matter against the Celtics, not for a single game.

Well they are the 8th seed and a sub-.500 ball club. They could easily mail it in and quit but they haven't. Getting down double digits doesn't bother them....C's haven't played well defensively on the road and only played well in spurts offensively in Atlanta.

The Hawks on the other hand have made all the plays down the stretch and at crucial points in the last two games.

Give credit where it's due.

I'll definitely give them some credit here.  Joe Johnson might have become a superstar tonight.  Performances like this by underdogs are what makes sports so great.  It sucks when it's against your team but there's nothing you can do.  We complain about the length of the playoffs, but TV scheduling aside, the NBA has set it up so that the best team should win in the end.  Are we the best team in this case?  Yes.  Are we playing like it? No.  Hopefully we'll get our act together Wednesday night at home.  It should be entertaining sports.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."
