The sign that Peirce made means a--hole. A circle plus three fingers

The circle-and-three-fingers thing can mean all kinds of things.  It's hard to definitively say exactly what was meant.

I was leaning toward the **** theory initially.

Too bad Horford isn't a Euro, he probably didn't even get it.

I guess David Stern doesn't know what the "extended middle finger toward the Celtics bench" sign means (Agent Zero last year).

I only saw some of it but didn't Dickerson just announce that it is a hand signal that Pierce and others do before every game and it means Blood, Sweat and Tears, with each finger standing for one of those terms because "that is how the Celtics win games"> Again, that is from what I just heard Dickerson say. That should clear things up.

Dickerson just reported on the pregame that it means "blood, sweat and tears" and the team does it all the time. They also showed video of Pierce doing it during introductions, where he does it prior to every game.  ::)

So, what exactly, makes that worthy of a fine?  He's got to appeal the fine.
Yup

It's not worthy of a fine.  that's what i was trying to say.  This is a non-issue and all of those who were bashing pierce, owe the man an apology (if that was possible of course).  Ya'll should be ashamed for jumping all over him before he even had an opportunity to defend himself.  Too bad there are so many Pierce bashers around this town.  I'm sure there will now be people saying he flashes gang signs before every game.

It was also stated that Ainge has video of Pierce doing this every pre-game and will appeal it.

just another example of stern and his anti-celtic bias. the game ended saturday night...they just announced this fine in the last 2-3 hours. why not just have the ref tell him right before tip-off.

an absolute joke. instead of focusing on stupid stuff, why doesn't he insure that violet palmer and bennet salvadore never sniff another playoff game?

  • You know my methods, Watson.
gerald green better be careful...flashing that one hand of his around could cause him to get fined as well.
