So with this whole Lebron/Deshawn/Jay-Z/Soulja Boy thing, I heard about the diss song Jay-Z made about it that calls out Deshawn Stevenson and instantly wanted to hear it.  I spent some time looking for it yesterday but couldn't find it, but finally found a link to it today via the Washington Post.  Check out for anyone else who's interested and wants to listen:

this storyline is pathetic.

i hope the wiz come back to win the series though. just a shame deshawn is all mouth, little talent and that gilbert is playing at 50%, if that.

before this whole feud id read a lot about deshawn and he seemed like a pretty funny dude, but then i got annoyed.  until i learned that lebron started it all.  apparently he was trashing deshawn and the wiz in front of drew gooden who is deshawns best friend in the league. no matter what happens the media will absolutely side with lebron because they are disgustingly obsessed with him, which is really annoying.

To be honest, I actually find this whole "feud" thing funny.  It's just so petty and blown out of proportion.  Now we have Jay Z dissing Stevenson in a song?  C'mon...

It's gonna be hard for Deshawn to get a rapper to back him that can compete with Jay.  Soulja Boy definitely isn't gonna cut it.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

So the saga continues, now this DC rapper named Pro'verb came out with a song talking about Lebron and Jay-Z as a reply to Jay-Z's song.  Check it out (cuz I know you all care so much  ;))

If that is the best diss that Jay-Z could come up with, he's lost about 10 mph off his fastball.  Maybe he should really stay retired.  That rap was as hard hitting as a feather.

I never heard of Pro'verb before, but his rap was way more clever than the alleged legend Jay-Z (whom I've actually met before and seemed like a good guy.  Jay-Z took the time to greet my friend, who is a huge fan).  My favorite line was the last one "HOV needs to stay in his lane."

I'm a little disappointed that Jay-Z would jump into this spat and come up with such a lame rap. If you're supposed to be a legend, come with something legendary, not mediocre at best.

BTW, the best diss rap of all time was "Hit Em Up" by Tupac.  Of course both rappers in the feud ended up murdered, unfortunately.
