On Saturday I was with a group of friends at the Red Sox game and during the rain delay someone brought up the question; "What is the greatest movie soundtrack of all time?"  The discussion quickly eliminated any movie about a band (ie: Help, Rattle & Hum) and any movie about an album (ie: The Wall).

There were some great soundtracks mentioned, my three favorites that we mentioned were,
The Big Chill
Gross Pointe Blank
Rocky

Any thoughts on this all you music officiandos?
I cannot begin to tell you how much I love my kids - call me a sap, it's true.

A Knight's Tale (lots of good classic rock)
Boondock Saints
Moulin Rouge
Lord of the Rings (All)

...having trouble thinking off the top of my heard here...

You might need to break this up into Original Scores vs. Song compilation sound tracks

Original song: 'Moon River' from Breakfast at Tiffany's (Henry Mancini, I think)
