I have mentioned this guy in other posts, but this kid Joe Alexander from West Virginia is a stud. He is a 6'9 very athletic PF. I have had the chance to see him play a number of times this year and he has really impressed me . He is averaging 16 and 6 for the season but in his last 7 games he has really stepped it up and today he set the Big East tournament record for points in a game with 34. If you think of all the great players that played in the Big East it is very impressive

Last 7 games for Alexander:
VS Providence -21pts, 7 rebs, 3 ast, 1 blk
@   Depaul    -17pts, 3 rebs, 3 ast, 1 blk
@   Uconn     -32pts,10 rebs, 2 ast, 2 blk
VS  Pitt      -32pts, 6 rebs, 2 ast, 2 blk
@   St John's -29pts,10 rebs, 2 ast, 1 blk

Big East Tournament:
VS Providence -22pts, 4 rebs, 6 ast
VS UCONN      -34pts, 7 rebs, 1 ast

Last 7 averages:26.7 PPG,7 Rebs, 2.7 asts, 1 blk

He is not even listed on Draft Express or Nbadraft.net, but I really think this kid could help the celts if he comes out. He is deadly shooter and can also take his man off the dribble easily . He reminds me of a young dirk Nowitzki. I am not saying he will be Nowitzki, but he has those kind of skill sets and is more athletic. Keep an eye out for this kid because I think he is going to win Big East Tournament MVP if he keeps this up.

Nah he is listed, just not till 2009. Last check nbadraft.net had him at pick #13 in the 2009 draft.

Some guy on realgm has a thread about him being the next Larry legend.... not a chance.

Well if there's one thing we've learned, it's that guys who win dunk contests are locks to be future stars. Actually I don't know anything about him, but now I will keep my eyes open for him.

David Lee was a good dunker in HS too. But to be honest that dunk is pretty "meh"

I realize those aren't the greatest dunks ever, but I was just trying to show an example of his athletic ability and vertical jump.

Yeah, and they can bring back Kevin Pittsnogle as well!

Have you seen Joe Alexander play ? The only similarities between Pittsnogle and Alexander is they are white and play/ played at West Virgina University.
Pittsnoggle's game was to basically stand outside the 3pt line and launch 3's all day. Alexander is FAR superior to Pittsnoggle in athletic ability. Alexander isn't a great shooter from beyond the arc(30% for the season), but he can get by his man and take guys off the dribble. He also has a turn around jumper he has perfected and he can get his shot off against anyone because he gets pretty high on his jump shots. He has a chance to be a special player if he continues to grow like he is in his all around game.

I would grab The A-10 player of the year--Gary Forbes in the second round if possible.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
He's playing well, and his overall profile seems to peg him as a solid player who can be had in the 2nd round after his senior year, a la Ryan Gomes.  Would be a nice addition, but I wouldn't trade up for him in the 2nd.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

None of the profiles are accurate of how much he has broken out the last few weeks as evidence by the stats listed above.  The ESPN college gameday guys were all about him last night, even Bob Knight.  Just saying he is tremendously talented.  If he keeps up his pace to lead WVU to the Big east crown and has a solid NCAA run, he could definitely move up some draft boards for this year.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
he has an uncanny knack for creating space to get his shot off and has an amazingly solid mid-range game.  i'm impressed, but i wonder how this will translate at the next level for EIGHTY-TWO games.

I would not. Awful attitude, zero defensive intensity and turnover prone.

UMass chokes once again. My senior year at the school and they let me down once again. How do you choke away a 17 point halftime lead as well as a 10 point lead with 4 minutes to go? Just awful....
